It’s insanely perfect. The lettering hammers it to over the top status.. You can look at it 1 inch away and it’s amazing as well.

WOW!!!!!!!! Typhoon must be one assume boat!!! It has won that Overall Best of Show in Clayton, South Lake Tahoe and The Concours D’ Elegance in Carnelian Bay Lake Tahoe. Someone must of paid of done the due diligence to do the detail of a boat. These boat are not easy project with all the detail. When you win all of these awards, someone paid attention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who was the restorer? They should recognized as one of the BEST!!!

    Great Going!!!!!!!!

    Are there any more???????????

It would be awesome to have an article on judging criteria. I know the mags and associations print guidelines, but I would prefer it in “Matt Speek”. Seriously, our chapter is probably going to ditch awards going forward. Also, when we have given them, it has been purely political. Visiting boats got them at the expense of the local members. Not that I disagreed with this. Also, we’re small fry. So how does it work elsewhere? I mean, it sounds like Clayton is big bucks and big names, a mini-oscars. So are there casting couches at these kinds of shows? Lobbying? Special previews?

I have gotten a ton of emails regarding correct names and awards on this one. Sorry for all the confusion, I got in some cases conflicting awards.. Understandable for sure, I dont even know the ones I get sometimes.. Regardless, it was an amazing show and the boats and owners we mentioned deserve a huge aplause for whatever it is that they won..

The boats this year were particularly gorgeous and during the ceremony they awarded “Best” This”, “Best That” for many categories—lots to keep track of!!!! Bottomline, the top awards are difficult to win so here is my correction— Best of Show Restored went to John Allen’s 33’ 1926 Baby Gar “Bolo Babe” and Best of Show Preserved went to Don Ploetner 19’ 1961 Chris Craft “Miss Hopatcong”.
