Cruising For The Cure – Another Good Reason To Visit Michigan. Not That You Need One!
While planning our week long adventure up to Michigan we realized that we could spend all summer up there. Ya think my clients would understand that I needed to be in Michigan for a month? Doing research? There is an event that we would love to be part of this year. l have been talking to fellow Woody Boater Rick Thei who has kindly helped us with our surprise boat up near Torch Lake Michigan, Rick runs the Cruising For The Cure Event up around the Torch Lake area on July 21,2012. Man, the more I hear about this the more I love it. It’s the perfect Woody Boater event. It’s fun, it helps others, it’s on a stunning body of water, and it involves very cool boats. If it had Chicken on a stick… DEAR GOD! OK, maybe we can hold off on the Chicken on a stick.. Somehow that crap only tastes good in Florida after a 2 month diet.. UGH.. So, since we cannot be there this year, we have signed up to be a big sponsor next year and are going to make it the first 2013 event that Woody Boater has signed up for next year. Michigan, here we come again.
This is the cruising for a cure events 4th year and growing. This event happens the same time as the Torch Lake Antique and Classic Boat Rendezvous in Belaire Michigan. Or is it the other way around? It’s a show, its a cruise. Its fun! So you get a full weekend of varnish sniff’n and it all helps others.

This is the not so fancy store front poster that tells folks more about the event. You can click on it and it will blow up..... enlarge.. You know what i mean..
To date this effort has raised close to $30,000 and is expected to top that this year. Stay tuned for updates on this fantastic event as it happens. And of course, if you want to donate below is the link and where, wear, Were, your money goes.
Net proceeds from this event go to the Jane H. Thie Memorial Fund, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization benefiting the torchlakeclassicsrendezvous.org. for research critical to the eradication of pancreatic cancer. You can visit the website here. www.cruiseforcure.org if you don’t have internet..wait, what are you doing here? OK, if you want to call someone and talk about your donation, you can call 1 810 441 4792 and if you only talk on email, guess what, you are in luck… CruisingForThe Cure@Prodigy.net and for those of you that love a good Calendar, They have one of those for sale as well..

you get a cool calendar for your wall, and someones life is a little better for it. Its a win win deal!
Tell your klients you need a month to rejuvinate yor kreative juces … when you get bak yu’ll come up with a killer campane. And furget the chikin, in Michigan it’s lake perch or walleye, washed down with Oberon!
The Michigan Chapter is honored to be this event’s guest organization for this year’s show. We are headed up there with 15 of our boats and a bunch of people to have a great time enjoying all of the activities that they have scheduled for the weekend. I am so pleased that Woody Boater is making this an official event for 2013. It is truly deserving of the recognition.
Nice painting on the poster! Would anyone know who the artist is?
Thanks
Now thats art!
The Water Wonderland Chapter were the guess chapter last year, and we had a great time. By the way, I was up there last week and bought four of the 2013 calendars at Butch’s Marina. Got my Christmas shoppin done early! By the way, check out Miss March, yep, it’s “Old School”…
You should consider openning an advertising franchise in Michigan……..we do advertise stuff here you know……..my son works in Fairfax, Va for a Michigan company marketing there…….anyway then its a business trip….
I plan to be at Torch this year. With family.
Hey Paul, I hear the 4th surviving 25′ Sportsman (runabout, not sedan) is on that lake.
