Guess What Grade She Got On Her Water Test?
Go ahead, guess? Now I graded on a curve. So there is that. But the much delayed and anticipated water test took place at 2:30 PM The day before we leave for Dora, Like in 4 hrs from now. Yikes.

Its go time, deadline is up.

The unfinished punch list on the windsheild

The real first time in the light with all the bling on. WOW, VEry pleased.. From about this far away

No floors in, seats so we can watch her sink in real time

Well, How did she float?
Okay, here is where she is at. Engine started and ran like a sewing machine. I LOOOOOVE the Model B engine. It just putters so sweetly. No big rumble. Just a gentle plup, plup. YEST THATS A WORD. She did take on some water, and we think it was from the automatic bailer, which I kept. Maybe a mistake? But thats an easy fix. While in the water on the trailer at this angle? maybe? never enough to make the bilge come on, Just a very sweet sound

Fat man in a little boat!

Perfection

She just scooted along, Dave Matthews on board, we did adjust the timeing a tad, and the belt was a little loose. The water pump worked, but only after a little rev. The issue is the intake hose is on the other side of the engine. We should have changed that, but I stuck with where the holes were.

Throttle up.

VEry sweet. The tack=h cable is kinda wonky. And is a new cable

Lots of back and forth. NO WATER in the bilge, that auto syphon works like a champ. And yes I know, they can be a problem

Back up and headed to HQ to finish her up

Washed at ready ish.

She’s ALIVE and WET. Congratulations!!! The (non floating) custom key chain is a nice touch.

Enjoy your time in Florida!
Greg is probably the most faithful commenter on this site. we should acknowledge the great profile article on him in the latest Brass Bell, which I just received in the mail. Congratulations.
Thanks Don. It was an honor to be asked to do the article.
Thanks Don! I just opened yesterdays mail here and read it. Greg, hope to go for a boat ride with you some day! PS, Don, we miss you on this side of the mountains!
You’re welcome, Greg.
thanks, Ron, and I miss you and the PNW chapter gang, too; you need get over to Idaho this summer, Ron!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. That smile on your face in B says it all. The reward for the tons of hard work and hours upon hours you spent on her in physical work, mentally researching the Model 99’s and creative brainstorming. Wow. Congratulations. She’s gorgeous.
Remember, that boat originally seats 6. Dora could be the perfect place to get 6 people in there for a boat ride. Would make a great photo shoot and video.
I don’t think you can find that many skinny guys to squeeze in.
I would like to volunteer…
Congrats Matt! Looking goooood!
Word of caution:
Be VERY, VERY careful with your windshield on the way south at 60 mph! That rectangle design is NOT friendly at speed and damn near irreplaceable too.
To say nothing of the little pieces at both ends.
My suggestion would be that you at least remove the glass section and attaching hardware before you leave. Wrap it in a soft blanket and put it somewhere safe, like the second seat in the truck cab. Bag the little parts too.
If you do that, your smiles will stay in place all the way south.
Safe travels and enjoy!!!!
Turned out really nice. I love the fact that your tool kit includes a SFH. A spare ignition key would be nice too.
I am speechless! Amazing congrats! Like Murdock says…prep her good for the trailer ride. See you Thursday ….. I hope…John in Va
Looking good!
See you soon!!!
PS: Your comment made me think of this.
I was thinking the same thing Troy. You did it Matt! She looks good, and sounds good. You had us all on the edge of our seats, wondering if she would run before you left. That big smile says it all. Run her and enjoy her.
Sounds great! Looks fantastic! And didn’t sink! Awesome! Safe travels!
Of course, the first thing I noticed was that key chain. And that windshield advice sounds sound. If you do need a little tow in Tavares please don’t let it be a pontoon.
Those CC B model engine’s are great little power packs. We winterized and water tested a little 17’ CC utility every fall and spring for a customer and it’s such a cool cocktail cruiser. You finished just in time. Have a safe trip. Heed the suggestions about the windshield.
Congrats Matt. Have a safe trip and a great time at the show.
Beautiful (with a BIG B) — surely going to ‘B’ an award winner!!!
Congratulations Matt and B. Jenny is looking forward to meeting you at Dora. Safe travels!!!
What a gem. We’ve been following you on I 95. Just crossed into Florida.
