Lake Arrowhead California, Algonac Michigan – Woody Boater Speaks!

Well, it’s official, we are officially booked to speak at this years Southern California ACBS Show at Lake Arrowhead. The date, June 8-10, 2012. shhhhhh though, don’t tell them that Woody Boater is really an automated computer program harvesting stories on the web. Won’t the joke be funny when all that appears is a laptop and someone has to press start…And they find out the Boatress is really pictures of some poor women I found in a Walmart picture frame…I cant wait to be there,  Lake Arrowhead is rich in Southern California history and an amazing setting for a historically fantastic show.

As some of you already know, we are also going to be speaking at the Algonac show this year. June 22- 24, at the 12th Annual Michigan Chapter Antique & Classic Boat Show. This show is at the original Chris -Craft plant.. Right there.. Tower and all.. Statue’s of Gar Wood and Chris Smith.. The talk will be at The Old Club, the first country club in the US.. the nations industrial leaders would meet there.. Last years speaker was Terry Feist, and before that Chris Smith and Herb Poklington.. For gods sake what were they thinking about asking me? It must be a set up for a better speaker next year. Dear god, what was I thinking?

So Gar, Yes Chris.. Ya think one day Woody Boater will come speak to people here on our boats.. HA, Chris, that guy is insane. I mean, he does stories on Toilet seats..

To say its an honor to be speaking at these two places is the understatement of the year. In fact its a bit intimidating. It’s one thing to sit here in the mornings and write this dribble about things I know very little about. It’s an entirely different thing to be in So Cal speaking to legends in the hobby.. And… in Algonac, right there at the same place that the founders of speed boats lived.. We depend so much here at Woody Boater for reader input and comments.. And Texx, Jesus that guy saves my ass daily.. I think maybe they invited the wrong guy to speak. I will also need some Chad action, he is always good for a good laugh when it starts getting boring. Wait.. I have an idea.. It’s perfect.. While I am speaking, how bout you all come and comment. M-fine can crack some fun lines, River Rat can be first, Don Ayers can ask how to post an image JRprops can speak up an hour after the speech.. HA..
So if you are making plans for this summer. Put lake Arrowhead, and Algonac on your list. just think, Woody Boater  that you don’t have to read, and that means… you guest it…..with no spelling errors!
