The Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance Celebrates It’s 40th Anniversary With The Riva Aquarama
CARNELIAN BAY, CALIFORNIA – The Lake Tahoe Concours d’ Elegance celebrates its 40th anniversary August 10-11, 2012 with the Riva Aquaramas as the Marque Class. The collection of nearly 100 antique wooden boats will gather once again at the height of summer along the docks of the Sierra Boat Company in Carnelian Bay, California to compete for top honors in multiple categories.
The 2012 Lake Tahoe Concours promotional boat show poster was released today by the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation. Sorry. Will not make the scene, IT’S RIVER TIME! There is no subsitute.
I can see it now. Lighted fountains of Poupon. A sky full of stars. Soft music. Expensive perfume in the air. Elegant women floating weightlessly across the lawn. Chamber music.
But, across the Lake, on its sole island, sounds eminate from the annual WoodyBoater Tahoe bash.
This year, the theme is Animal House.
So, instead of Riv-a, we hear Tog-a Tog-a, Tog-a, TOG-a.
Hmmmm. What characters would Texx and Matt show up as? And would Paul’s Sportsman be a fine substitute for that big Lincoln?
Flounder and Pinto
I am sure it will be a great sghow this year, as it was last year. Sorry to say I won’t be able to make it in 2012, but am looking forward to 2013 already. Priority is Tavares/Sunnyland show – can’t wait for that.
