Mahogany Bay Booth

More Tempo! Not Cow Bell!

Out of focus but still cool

One Killer Sea Lion

The Mahogany Bay Crew Is All There..

Very Cool Setup... Wait.. Is that a Beer.. Hold on.. I need to rethink what i am doing this weekend here in VA.. Beer... Old Boats.. Tempo.. Beer.....

Very cool and diverse boats

The shot above is of the display and history of antique to classic boats. This booth is very well done and a great way to introduce many folks to the hobby at an event that is more about new plastic boats. But we believe that this sort of history and booth help the industry. More to come.. From Minnesota and NYC.. Stay tuned.

The St. Louis Boat & Sportshow at the Edward Jones Dome (home of the Rams) will be open in less than 3 weeks. We’ll be promoting the hobby and passion with a large display of vintage boats, outboards and collectibles. Our display was voted the most popular one at the show for the last 3 years. We’ll be right in there with all the new boat dealers. They’re trying to sell boats while we’ll be giving away passion for the history of boating.

Giving away passion is a great phrase that I’m going to borrow it for our show.

      SHOW SPECIAL

If you want Tempo to make an appearance we might work out a deal for travel. The upside is when we take orders to have her built to order with Fugian Mahogany trees over 50 ft in length we could donate 5% to the club.

Just think, a boating Capitol like Seattle with a major boat show and our local ACBS chapter has been begging the promoter to let us display some boats for the past several years. They would love to have us…if we pay for the floor space as a retail vendor. As shown with these great live-ish reports the past few days, our boats are a huge draw at the shows. I would love to hear from the chapters that participate in these big shows if they see a marked increase in membership following the show.

When times were better, as in three years ago, our local show actually PAID us to come! Last year they didn’t have space for us and this year they made room for 4 boats at no charge.

Yes, you are correct. The boat has a 428 Cobra Jet and for the owner Susan Tenneys safety we put a cork govenor on the back of the gas pedal which she will be taking off in 2011 now that shes had training. Somewhere someone has said Higgins are guaranteed not to flip.
She wants to defy this rumor which is from her room.
