Live-ish From The Toronto ACBS 32nd Annual Antique And Classic Boat Show

,

Crowds line the docks in Gravenhurst for the big show.

On Saturday night we received this short Live-ish report from fellow Woody Boater Kathy Rhodes, who is attending the popular boat show in Gravenhurst, Ontario this weekend – which is hosted by the Toronto Chapter ACBS. Kathy is also the Editor of the Chapter’s very own award winning quarterly publication Classicboat Magazine.  The annual Gravenhurst Boat Show is Canada’s largest in-water wooden boat show and this year the theme of the show is “Innovation.”

Although the day started out overcast and damp, the boats and the crowds just kept on coming to Gravenhurst on Saturday for the ACBS-Toronto 32nd annual antique and classic boat show. By the time the skies cleared in mid-morning, the docks were packed.

With over 90 vintage boats in water and land displays, antique and classic cars, vendors, Field of Dreams, a full youth program, and poster boat “TOLKA” (36′ Graham Bell Lab), pulling a water skier, there was more than enough to entertain the entire family.

Cheers, Kathy Rhodes

Thanks for the report Kathy, it looks like the Gravenhurst event is once again a big hit with the spectators and participants alike… Congratulations to everyone from the Toronto Chapter ACBS and Classicboat Magazine!

Torrential rain on the hour drive to Gravenhurst gave way to blue skies and a great show and good crowds. A couple of magnificent Hackercrafts and me in my “Sand, Varnish” t-shirt. Well done, everyone. What was the diver looking for ?

This show is always a great day by the lake.
So many great boats and great friends (both old and new)…. with RMS Segwun and the “Grace & Speed” heritage center as framework, a first class event.
Of course, it’ll be better next year….it always is.
