Long-ish From The 2012 Boats On The Boardwalk Show In Traverse City, Michigan

,

Long-ish being a reference to the unique venue, not the story… Our Friend, Fellow Woody Boater, Premium Restoration Guy & Noted Author – Don Danenberg sent us a few shots from this year’s big 2012 Boats on the Boardwalk show in Traverse City, Michigan. With that llloooonnngggg boardwalk (along the Boardman River – You can’t make this stuff up), this is a perfect venue for a classic boat show which is hosted by the nice folks at the Water Wonderland Chapter ACBS in Michigan.

There were 48 antique & classic boats registered / in the water for this year’s show.

Is this one of the few Riva’s in the country that isn’t going to be Lake Tahoe for the Concours d’Elegance next weekend? It’s always great to see an elegant Riva anywhere in the country.

For us it’s simply amazing to see how many wonderful antique & classic boat shows there are throughout the state of Michigan, and we know our friends Carla & Chris from Hagerty Marine Insurance are working hard to get to as many of these events as possible, and Chris mentioned that he was planning to attend the Boats on The Boardwalk show this weekend.

Chris must have made it because you can see the traditional blue Hagerty banner on the bridge down the river…

A brilliant post war Chris-Craft 20′ Custom looking good…

There are lots of blonds in Michigan, lots of nice blonds… Old, but nice, or… Did that come out right?

Mike and Kirk (Kirk in the dark glasses) from the Wooden Runabout Company in nearby Holland, Michigan with their perfect all original Chris-Craft Land Cruiser mobile office / beverage unit…

Thanks for sharing a few shots from the show Don, we appreciate it! Mr. Danenberg is the proprietor of Danenberg Boat Works, you can Click Here to go to his website.

Looks too mellow maybe. Next year take a page from Europe and have a ‘Fri Fart’ event on that canal also.

Thanks Don for sending the pics of our show, Boats on the Boardwalk, to Woody Boater. It is a “chill” show, although the temps of mid 90’s with high humidity had all of us wanting to hit the beach prior to 4:00! Fabulous boats, fabulous setting in TC and fabulous clients. Thank u Water Wonderland ACBS!

Traverse city IS a really nice boat show. Maybe im a little partial because im from mi. But it is a real cool city to visit. But i dont think the “fri fart” idea will work. There is a dam (damn) about 1/4 mi up river. less than a block away from the boat show are many restaurants and shops to visit downtown. If you stay longer there are lots of very scenic spots to visit and the leelanau peninsula also has many new winerys
