STAGING A PREMIERE CLASSIC BOATING EVENT presents many challenges for the organizers and host ACBS Chapter. Corporate sponsorship is one of the key elements in terms of meeting the objectives of the event and it’s ultimate success.
The Woods and Water 2015 Planning Committee from the Bob Speltz Land-O-Lake Chapter has been hard at work for more than two years now, preparing for the week-long event at Gull Lake, Minnesota in September. One of their many objectives for this event was to provide free admission for the public to attend the boat show – one of the many benefits of corporate sponsorship.
Here at Woody Boater we are excited and proud to announce the first in a number of corporate sponsors that have come onboard for the 2015 Woods and Water event.

Nor-Son Announces Premiere Sponsorship of the 2015 Antique and Classic Boat Society’s International Meeting and Boat Show: Woods and Water.
Thursday, May 28, 2015:
Nor-Son, Inc. will be a premiere sponsor of the 2015 Antique and Classic Boat Society’s (ACBS) 40th International Annual Meeting & Boat Show: Woods and Water. The event was named in honor of the natural resources of Minnesota and the fine antique wood crafts you will see at the show. ACBS selected Gull Lake as the location for avid wood boat enthusiasts to showcase their vintage boats at Bar Harbor Supper Club Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26, 2015. Over 100 boats, 300 owners, and 5,000 spectators are expected to attend.
The Bob Speltz Land-O-Lakes (BSLOL) Chapter is also celebrating the 40th anniversary of ACBS at their Annual Rendezvous on Lake Minnetonka, September 18 and 19 at Lord Fletcher’s Old Lake Lodge. Nor-Son will have a vendor display at the event in which all ACBS members are cordially invited to attend.
“We are extremely excited to sponsor this event and it’s a perfect fit for us,” said Scott Kuehl, CEO of Nor-Son. “Many of our clients are avid enthusiasts of vintage boats from Lake Minnetonka to Gull Lake.” said Scott Kuehl, CEO of Nor-Son. “For nearly 40 years we’ve been involved in many award-winning projects that store prized collections.”

This lodge-style home was built with reclaimed materials of the highest quality for durability, size, sustainability and aesthetic.
Nor-Son recently completed an Americana themed museum for a private collector that was inspired by his passion for antique boat racing. “We’re seeing a lot more unique spaces and creativity in luxury estates and home design,” says Peter Eskuche, Vice President of Design for Nor-Son. “We think beyond rooms and finishes to their passions, hobbies and interests.”
Eskuche, who works out of Nor-Son’s Wayzata location on Lake Minnetonka, is familiar with the location of this year’s boat show, Bar Harbor. He completed the creative design concepts for the restaurant’s major renovation recently.

I just told Pat, I want to redo the living room.
Kudos to Nor-Son for sponsoring this great event. The corporate sponsors keep it affordable for all of us and keeps the show free for the spectators that are the future of our hobby. When you attend Woods & Water you’ll have a chance to see some of these amazing structures up close. If you have a business that could benefit from association with this premier event there’s still time (but not much!) to step up.
Just can’t get enough of stone and wood (no drywall). BSLOL chapter always puts together a well run show. This one will be over the top for sure.
