One Week From Today. CLAYTON!

Get out your vinegar and water spray solution! Its varnish shining time. I do hear that thousand island dressing works great on engine parts! Really!

Dang, how time flies. In just a week, actually less than a week. 5 days to be more exact the Clayton show is off and running. This year is expected to be another fantastic year up in the Thousand Islands. Including the big auction. Here is an insider tip for anyone going for the first time. Get a tour of the off campus warehouse of the Antique Boat Museum and there is always a show going on as you drive in or out of town at Antique Boat America. A show you can actually buy stuff at. And if you are the luckiest guy on the planet, the good folks at St Lawrence Restoration will give you a tour. As I said, this area is full of cool stuff to just bask in the glory of varnish! A very strong Woody Boater recommend. Also bring cash, there is always a fantastic flea market there. Heck.. Go drain out your 401K and just let loose.. please email me if you do that by the way. I am sure we would all love to congratulate you on your divorce!

We went up to the Clayton show last year and stayed a week in Alex Bay, in a cottage with a DOCK!!! One of my most favorite places we have been to yet!!! Best boating for touring/cruising. The show and events were first class and great people in that area. We will be up in Traverse City next weekend for our “BOATS on the BOARDWALK” CLASSIC BOAT SHOW. But I am thinking of runnin out to the Vintage Race Boat event in Clayton in mid August, should be an interesting event. “OLD SCHOOL” should feel right at home…

The hotel situation is not the best to say the least. But it is possible. Just keep saying to yourself, you are not there for the hotel room, you are not there for the hotel room.

Yeah, I know it is not about the lodging….in fact I SURELY KNOW THAT as my stay at the Mission Inn while last in Florida for Taveres/Mt. Dora was VERY BAD INDEED!

Going to the finger lakes in August…so will still never have made it to Clayton….soon I hope.

Best of luck and a good time to all.
