More Partytime From Port Orchard.
Ron Stevenson sends in more pics from the big 25th Chris Craft Rendezvous out at Port Orchard. It should be called the Chris Craft Cruiser party from what we can see here. And of course some nice boat shots.

Hard to keep track of them all, especially with a bare wood transom too! How many points are deducted for no varnish? This is a show for owners, no judging, except for skippers choice, best wood and best glass.

T shirt contest! This is Matt Payton, our resident graphic artist. He is showing to first T-shirt he designed 25 years ago when he was 10! He is inside his parents boat Maranee, a 1941 42 foot double double cabin enclosed cruiser. Jim and Margie Payton were just given an award for attending every rendezvous for 25 years!
The 8th picture, the one with the varnish missing, can someone put me in contact with the owners? Their enclosure on their 50’s era helm is very similar to mine. Mine came from the Seattle area and I have always thought that it was a one off customized enclosure so it’s exciting for me to see another one so similar. I’d like to know more about mine and this could be a lead to that info. Thanks for whatever help I can get.
Now that is some coverage! Beautiful!
Thats a lot of beautiful cruisers in one spot and on one page of woody boater, i hope Matt is sitting down and the boatress has an eye on the credit card.
Love the big boats.
Awesome! Thank you for the coverage!
WOW this is definitely on my list of show that I “Must Get To”.
I don’t generally go to shows.
Wait Look at that there is even a “Finned” Continental in the foreground of the header. 🙂
Wow those things have gotten some press lately.
The finned Continenal belongs to Don & Jodi Palmer, and is equipped with a 327 “Q”, closed cooling, with no modification to the original ‘glass engine box… I’ll let you stew on that one for a while! 🙂 Don was there Thursday and Friday giving rides and delivered Herb Pocklington and his wife to their hotel when they arrived. According to Don, Herb had an “ear-to-ear” grin during the excursion.
Bill, RE your enclosure question. Realize that we had so many boats out here and so yards, and so many shipwrights and so many owners wanting to be warm and dry that they were all “one-of” custom enclosures. At the time Bryant Marine Was the largest CC dealer west of Mississippi for many many years.
Come out next year and see them for yourself!
