Paul & Karen Harrison, Live From Lake Dora. Will Someone Please Contact Tripple A
Fellow Woody Boater and reporter Paul Harrison reporting live from Lake Dora. Every year Paul gets there early and works from there house and then goes boating or whatever Karen and him can do. We requested photo proof.

Paul Harrison is working…wait.. slaving away for all of us.. God bless you Paul.. I know its rough.. Opened that bottle on your own? Did ya Paul?
We also are prepared to break away our normal news cycle if…when Paul breaks down or runs out of gas. Although, he is in a rental car. An impressive Impala, so breaking down is unlikely. As reporting in, it’s… Get this… SUNNY! and warm, all at the same time.

All right, someone is at least ready at the docks, in just 11 days, these docks will be crammed full of mahogany goodness.
I honestly forgot what that was like. There are these things that grow from the ground and have color.
And creatures that fly.. Birds I think they are called. I can’t recall that far back.
The cool thing is that this weekend coming up will be Vintage Races, that’s always exciting, and of course actually watching grass grow. I miss that..
Happy Monday, Only 11 Days til Chicken on a stick, fresh varnish and good pals. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!
10 F here this morning.
It warms me up just to see pictures like that.
6 more days till I step off the plane in Orlando! 🙂
10 degrees and 10 days to go. I only have 6 weeks or work to finish before Next Wednesday. Should be fun.
Another sign of spring…. Paul holding on tight to the green bottle. See ya’ll soon….
Did you see the look in his eyes? What concentration, what form in the way he holds the bottle. Wow truly a master. No sweat on that brow. There was snow on my truck again, today I actually swore at it.
For Paul sake it is -22C here in Ottawa today. See you this weekend Paul and Karen at the race boat show.
Hey Paul, you’ve still got plenty of time to buy a Dora boat before the Show. All of us back home are rooting for ya.
Why Alex, that’s just what I had in mind……not. Fortunately the field of dreams opens too late to be a threat to my vow of not adding any more boats. As you do not share those fetters, I will take great delight in encouraging you to buy another, and on top of that, I will arrange a private tour of the Antique Car Museum and Dealer here where you can view the fleet of available “professional” cars in a dignified and private setting. The flower car is my favorite. One way ticket here and a check book – it’s ll you need.
The Field of Dreams and Greg Jackson, are two reasons I am NOT bringing a 2 1/8 ball and receiver with me…
or bigger…
I’m getting closer, now in Pensacola where it has been raining for the past 24 hours. We move to Carrabelle on Saturday to pick up Wilson Wright, then on to Sanford on Sunday to catch the bus ride to the north end of the St. John’s River for the Southbound cruise.
Looking forward to seeing Paul and Karen Sunday evening. Thanks for the report, Paul!
Even though we are boatless here this year, we are pleased to be in the warmth of FL and now familiar surroundings of our rental place. For a change of pace yesterday, I actually drove around – normally when here we’re in a boat and it’s Karen driving. She’s to thank for taking the pictures, and she’ll be working as well this morning, not just me. Cloudy and windy today but warm!
Fellow boaters will be starting to trickle in this week and I look forward to seeing them – the dock at our place is always open!
A pontoon that can be the Woody Boater Party Barge and a place for Texx to sleep! Do it!
This just might be what you’re looking for.
My above comment was supposed to say, RENT a pontoon!
Snowed here yet again……not much but ice under and above it….and no end in sight.
Water looks kind of rough in Paul’s pix.
See you all soon,
John in Va.
I am with WoodyGal. Rent a party barge/Texx hotel. Preferably a vintage 70’s model that has redneck upgrades like lawn chair seating and non-marine power.
Also, are we sure Paul is working? I don’t remember “drink beer in the sunshine” as part of his job description.
Redneck, wow – we got redneck here in FL. If I see a prticularly distinguished example of redneck goes pontoon, we’ll file it with the home office in DC.
I just got a “HIGH WIND ADVISORY” for the Orlando area on my cell phone, 30 to 40 mph winds, s to sw, right on the city docks. Said, “may cause rough chop “… right!
Just ended the wifes cruise out of Ft Lauderdale. Took a cruise out in the waterways. 200′ MEGA Yaughts, cant spell it, I obviously cant own it. Really who the hell has 10-30 mill for a boat? I cant even afford good copper bottom paint!
Wait! Your back from the Cruise?
I thought it was at the same time. You can still make the show.
SEE YOU THERE!
Yah Right, now I gotta pay for it. Saw this in the keys, next project anyone?
matt can you attach a link or at least an website to the upcoming vintage raceboats thanks
Found this remembrance of Lake Dora and though it should be shared…..
Guess I’m a day late on this one…Glad to read where Al & family then near Pensacola and presumably there today….Sunday night was a rainy one in N. Florida…We got a much needed 5 + inches in our lake and an equal amount in Carrabelle…Rain is over now and things should dry out this week…Look forward to seeing Al in Apalach on Saturday.
Hello Paul,
Just read some of your posts, really enjoy them.
I also have a 1965 Glastron Futura exactly like yours but in original un-restored condition, right down to the original brass prop !
I am also a 2nd owner and am fortunate that the boat and original aluminum trailer were always stored when not in use.
I knew the boat was rare but didn’t know how rare until I started looking around for information on the internet.
Keep writing my friend and happy boating !
Neil
