Rebecca Lahti Officially Opens The 40th Annual 2012 Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance

,

The 40th Annual 2012 Lake Tahoe Concours d”Elegance presented by the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation was officially opened at 10:00 AM this morning by Rebecca Lahti, with her beautiful and touching rendition of the National Anthem.

Her proud father and fellow Woody Boater John Lahti was the first to congratulate her as only a father could…

The weather in Carnelian Bay on the shores of Lake Tahoe is perfect for a boat show, and the magnificent Rivas are all dressed up for the occasion…

The judges are putting the final touches on the score sheets after almost two full days of going through the boats, which is why this is one of the most prestigious boat shows on the planet – period…  Fellow Woody Boater and Riva Guru Alan Weinstein from Alan Weinstein Associates is in paradise!

The Sierra Boat Company property is packed with spectators which began pouring in to the show early this morning…

The live band is cranked up and belting out the tunes…

The always pleasent Carla Gernhofer and Jen Munch are here representing Hagerty Marine Insurance, smiles all around…

Fellow Woody Boaters Mike Mayer from Lake Oswego Boat Company in Oregon and Brian Robinson from Robinson Restoration in SoCal were spotted checking out this glamorous Riva Aquarama… Matching judges shirts, not twins… (I think Mike has the “Riva Itch” but you didn’t hear it from me!)

The folks are gathered around the temporary courtyard at Sierra Boat Company for some viddles and entertainment… No Chicken-on-a-Stick here, only the best catered food… And as usual, Herb Hall and his crew at Sierra Boat have everything running like a Swiss watch…

Stay tuned for more updates from Lake Tahoe… The fun is just beginning.

Texx, I met John Lahti at the So Lake Tahoe show. Super nice guy and as you know does a great job putting together a fabulous show.

Texx…you may be mistakin’ the “riva itch” for the “Riviera Twitch”….if you know what I mean.

What an incredible show. Love them or not, those Riva’s are awesome boats. The attention to detail is mind numbing. There were also many high quality boats from our favorite US builders, too.

Sigh…Okay, I’ll be the one to say it: 10 AM is WAY TOO F&#*ing early for the National Anthem. We all(?) did our time and reverie in any forms is not on the agenda for my retirement!!!
