Go ahead, bitch all you want. But it’s a boat show, and is it really worth it to get in arguments with Horace and possibly be a Super Spreader event? Volunteers being put in tough spots, vendors canceling. It’s no longer a classic boat show, but a classic ship show. I agree with the Museum to cancel 100%. In fact I had bagged out of the Railway being used as a Friday welcome dinner location.

Pre Delta fun!

Here in Northumberland County, the cases have exploded. Up over 250%  AND the volunteer folks at the boat show are over 60. So, can you imagine a more disastrous situation? If one person gets sick, it’s a boat show. Yes some outdoors, yes all of it, but the list of why cancel for sure outnumbered the why stay open. It’s not a money maker. QUE TROY.. And the shirts are already selling. NOT BY ME BTW.

Shirts will be sold locally.

Other events around Virginia are also canceled. Smith Mountain Lake Show for example. So here we are, back to ground zero. Because of Horace and his selfishness. If you need someone to blame. Blame the selfish idiots who think they are smarter than all the scientists, doctors and the FDA. Do us all a favor and take the time you have not going to a boat show and get yourself vaccinated. Pissed? Me? Yes! It boggles my pea brain? I am Vaccinated. I may be an idiot, but I am not stupid!

I am going to go boating

Take the shirts and stencil “Cancelled” on them and they’ll sell like hotcakes since it makes a statement. Next year if all is good I’ll be there.

Matt, definitely a tough break, but you did your best to make it happen. I really feel bad for the vaccinated people of Reedville.

It had to be a tough decision, but a prudent one made in good faith. Hopefully the weather will be bad on that day, so everyone will feel better. Although I am vaccinated, I am doubtful to attend the remaining boat shows in Michigan. I’ll look forward to a full-slate next year. My sister-in-law is a CCU nurse. The sadest stories are those on ventilators now asking to be vaccinated – it is just too late then.

As someone who is vaccinated and whose entire family got vaccinated as soon as we could, I must say your anger toward the unvaccinated is misplaced.

Delta variant is spreading through vaccinated populations nearly as fast as the unvaccinated. The vaccinated individual has some protection from severe illness and death, but they can still get infected and still spread it. Vaccines are not going to end this thing on their own.

At some point we are going to have to accept the reality that COVID is with us for good. Between vaccination boosters and reinfections our immune systems should mostly learn to handle it, and then we are going to have to learn to keep living our lives.

The mis-information and mis-trust sewn by the CDC have created this tragic mess. Don’t blame Americans who just want to be free and not be told what to do….Place the blame squarely where it belongs, on Fauci and his gang of slimeballs that are trying to play GOD and have created and released a genetically modified China virus upon the world.

Wear a mask if it makes you feel better. Get on with life. Go Boating.

Well on the bright side now you have another whole year to whoop the Marine Railway into shape. Reedville is a cool town. We really enjoyed the 2019 show as spectators and were participating this year. The Reedville 2019 Tee Shirt is one of my favorites.See you in 2022

Wow. So there it is. Unfortunately even on my woody boater site. Messenger rna “vaccines” do not work. They have never worked. They have been in development for 4 decades. The best course you could take if your over 50 or at risk (diabiates) is get the vaccine and then get the virus so you get t4 coding. The shot actually masks symptoms and allows you to spread it by being more asymptomatic. There are very good reasons not to get the shot. Those making that choice are not the ones ruining your boat show. I could go on about antibody dependandant enhance and many other issues that are very problematic with this big experiment. Unfortunately the path should have been more treatment than vaccine. This can be treated very successfully. However like everything it’s more political than “science” – it’s sad that you would enter into this arena of division on our daily escape website. The vaccine at best last 6 months. It will continue to be less effective and quicken the likelihood of variants. You will thank the unvaccinated if there’s any left for herd immunity that will will now take decades. Stick to boats and not division because there are people that know a hell of a lot more about immunology than you that would disagree with conventional wisdom. Truly unbelievable times. Also I love matt and everything is going to be alright….

Love the revised graphic of the sinking boat !, (and fallen Reedville Stack!) THAT should be a limited edition T-Shirt run!

Sorry that the show had to be cancelled, but with the division of opinions present these days, its probably best. Maybe I could dig up some more HazMat Suits and Hoods…..

and not getting political, yes we”ll hope for nasty weather that day so we dont have to feel so bad about the event..

but, the sinking boat T-Shirt would be a classic and a true sign of the times..
Stay well all my WoodyBoater friends,….whats important is that we are all here and happy next, or next next year when we are all back to what ever the new normal is but at in person events..

Ya, that graphic would be fun for a T shirt. I suppose it was a good deadline to work towards to get the Railway all fluffed up. There will be many chances in the future.

I have been shot!! (vaccinated) and I urge everyone else to be. In my lifetime I have had vaccines for polio, measles, smallpox, and what ever else the Dr requested. It has not hurt or killed me. To protect myself over the years I have worn PFDs safety glasses. helmets, seatbelts, steel toes work boots, charcoal respirators, masks, and condoms. Maybe thats why I am still here and healthy. Who knows when this will all end, but in the mean time we need to take care of our selves and each other. It really sucks that boatshows are being canceled. I am glad that the Hessel show was a go. I hope no one contacted anything there. Be Safe and get out there ! This sh!t will end eventualy.

Sorry about the show cancellation, but given the times, confusion and politics of our national situation and the world at this time – it is a prudent decision. An analogy I have seen that applies is very simple: Seatbelts. Are they 100% guaranteed to save you in an accident? Do you wear one anyway? Same situation with vaccines and masks. Click-it or ticket. Vax/Mask-it or casket. Nothing is 100%, except possibly the responsibility we have for those we love and those around us in society.

There will be many new beautiful boats to purchase in the next couple of years as these anti maskers and anti vaxers kick the bucket after having died from a virus that they think is no big deal.
