Reedville Classic Boat Show Reviseted From This Weekend!

This past weekend we make a quick run down to our other home base of Reedville Virginia, a nice small working fishing village on the Chesapeake Bay. Reedville is a charming town with a charming population. Located right in the center of Main Street is the Reedville Fishermens Museum. The social center of town where lots of folks gather and put on events.

John Rothert from VA on his special Argintinian speed boat that needs a story on its own, once we can figure out what it is.. It has a very cool flat head V8 in it..

John was parked next to a VERY cool Correct Craft Mustang! With a killer 302 in it..

This year like many years in the past, they put on there annual classic boat show with the Museum staff, and the Tidewater ACBS. It cost 5 bucks to enter and you get your moneys worth thats for sure.

This year was actually a good year, since in the past many cruisers would show up and dock in the back yards of the homes in town. So ya got to see the historic Village and boats.. But insurance issues caused that to end.. So it all took place in one area at the Museum with a variety of classic boats.

This cool transportable Evenrude belongs to fellow Woody Boater and pal Glenn Lester who likes to collect outboards, and corvettes, and other cool stuff.

The only boiler in the area not steaming crabs.. At least I think its not..

The area is rich in wood boat history since it was home port at one time to 13 fish factories and many watermen still use wood work boats to set nets and crab. In fact the wood boats might actually outnumber new plastic stuff. Maybe its just me and what I want to see. Regardless, its enough to bring a smile to your face anytime of year. Heck, there is still a working wood boat railway in the center of town. George Butler still builds them the same way as they always did. Here is a clip of George at work.. No website.. Yup! Cheapest gas in the state! And most of it on the docks is… Get this.. Ethanol FREE!
