St. Johns River Cruise Tuesday – Part 1 Leaving From Palatka, Destination Crescent City
It’s 10:00 AM at the docks in Palatka, Florida and the gang is preparing for the next leg of the St. Johns River Cruise, starting in Palatka and ending in Crescent City. Today we have been invited to join Jim Staib aboard “Lucky 7” – Jim’s very cool Chris-Craft U-22.
Palatka is home to St. Johns River State College, St. Johns River Water Management District Headquarters, and Ravine Gardens State Park. The area is well known for its local festivals, most notably the Florida Azalea Festival and the Blue Crab Festival.
The docks are busy with folks packing up their supplies for another beautiful day on the water in east central Florida.
Lift and Sniff, check the oil, etc. The great part about these popular river cruises are the wide range of boats that participate each year…
A nice looking Continental ready to rip…
Hey I think that’s Norman from Tennessee in his little Pre-War Chris-Craft… Norman is is a veteran of many river cruises over the years, and always likes to get a head start on the group.
“Rum Runner” had some mud in the water intake and was being towed in for service.
Paul & Karen sporting their new Woodys for Boobies and Sons of Varnish tee shirts today.
A cool Carlson fiberglass classic was also preparing for a day of fun cruising on the trip down the river.
“Contact” – Almost ready for the fleet to take off – Watch out, that first step off the dock is a big one…
Stay tuned and join us throughout the day for updates as we take you for a special Woody Boater trip along the St Johns River… As long as we have cell coverage! WoooHooo!
.
Have fun & keep your eyes peeled for those cell towers!
A u22 that escaped Jim’s burn pile is a lucky boat indeed! Enjoy your cruise as a passenger in that Fine Wood Boat. I usually end up driving which I always enjoy, but the rarity makes the times you get to relax and ride even more fun.
Thanks for the shot of the Continental! I left the Donzi home this trip and brought the Woody! The Carlson is traveling with us as is Hagan’s nice Chris Craft Triple! Great weather, great boats and best of all, great people! Hope to see all in Tavares in two days!
