Tahoe- It’s Gonna Be A Whopper! Without Cheese!

This year as we are going from show to show and talking with fellow Woody Boaters around the world, one topic keeps coming up. This years Big Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance Show August 12-13 . Everyone is showing up. Between the amazing boats in an amazing setting… And the Gar Wood feature and “Perlita Too” the worlds most amazing restoration of a worlds most amazing Riva.. showing up. Karen and Paul“reporting from the side of the road ” Harrison are showing up ..hopefully….with “Barn Find” a spectacular preserved Chris Craft Sportsman Hard Top.. .. Rivas and the perfect time of year there. Hagerty Marine Insurance is pulling out all the stops in full support of the show.. Woody Boater will have all it’s reporters there, and a celeb appearance from Texx.. or star roving reporter  if you are lucky enough he will autograph a hat for you, we will have to contact his “people” to clear that first though..  We will be reporting live from all sorts of cool things.. This year this is the hot ticket for sure. A whopper.. No cheesy fat either.. The show is pure fun.. And a chance to see some fun West coast one offs and to hang with a very fun and crazy crowd at Sierra Boat Company. So if you have not looked into this yet, or are on the fence.. Mr Byrne! cough cough.. then get that hotel room.. Were gonna party like its 1957.. or if you are a flat head screw guy. 1936..

One more amazing painting by Roy Dryer III

now.. Lets say, hey Mr Woody boater, I can’t wait.. I got ants in my pants and gotta smell the varnish. then you my friend can go early to the South lake Tahoe Show in July 29-30.. Yup.. A Lake so Amazing it has two shows within 30 days. Take the month off and bask in bungs, Varnish and the smell of old gas.

What? They are skimping on the cheese? If I am going to force down an over cooked rainforest burger it better at least offer a slice of processesed American cheese food product.

Oh man! Like is wasn’t confusing enough having you posting as both “woody” and “matt”, but now we have a different guy posting as “Matt” with a capital M like he is someone important?

I think I am going to have to change my name.

Don’t forget the Gathering of the Gars, and annual event at Tahoe. This year it takes place on the Monday following the show. Given that Gar is the marque class this year at the Concours, it will probably be the largest Gathering of the Gars yet held – around 40 expected apparently. We plan to be there with our Sedan.

The Concours website http://www.laketahoeconcours.com should be updated by the end of the week with the list of entries with photos and bios. It is an impressive list this year. The show is at max capacity and there are over 30 Gar Woods registered.

OK, Matt. Yesterday you spelled Wisconsin, Wisconson. And you repeatedly call Lake Geneva, Geneva Lake. You have two months to get it right or you won’t be welcomed at the annual meeting in Geneva Lake, Wisconson.

      Rabbit,

To clearify the town is named Lake Geneva, The lake is named Geneva Lake (they are both in Wisconson) . Make sure you get it right or the locals will correct you :~)

So many boats shows… So little time. If it wasn’t for our darn day jobs, I’m sure we could attend a boat show every weekend somewhere across the country.

But send us your photos and a short story and Matt will Deputize you as a Fellow Woody Boater – Roving Reporter!
