Who Want’s To Be In A Boat Parade? The “Brian Cuthbertson Memorial Antique & Classic Boat Parade” To Be Exact.

Brian Cuthbertson
The Michigan Gang has made a memorial parade named after one of the nicest guys in the community Brian Cuthbertson, actually the parade is a couple years old, since Brian passed away. This gives you another chance to meet the wonderful group up there in Michigan, and go boating in the sacred waters of Algonac. Here is the note from Erin Mink, and if you are gonna go, you may want to go faster than 2-3 MPH!

The online Registration for the “Brian Cuthbertson Memorial Antique & Classic Boat Parade” closes after July 2nd, one week away. Extended weather forecast is very promising.
This year’s parade has improvements over last year’s including:
– Parade route duration is reduced from 70 minutes to 40 minutes. This is achieved by increasing the speed to 7 MPH over bottom from the Pearl Beach Fishing Pier to the Seafarer Union Building. The last leg of the route slows to 2-3 MPH. Spectators along the east bound portion of the North Channel should experience the same twenty minute (per 30 boats) parade because parade boats will maintain 30 seconds between boats.

Lots of history
– The Algonac Fireboat with water cannons in full bloom will lead the parade and similarly, the Clay Twp Fireboat will follow the end of the parade.
– The first registered boat, Mike Bembas’s Sea Ray Express 400 will have past Pickerel Tournament Queens on board.
– ACHS is providing 3 trophy awards, chosen by Spectators at the Riverfront Park and presented by Community dignitaries at the post-parade rendezvous luncheon.
– In addition to providing a Registered Boats List to the public, a photo catalog of each registered boat will also be available on the website prior to the start of the parade.

– Virtual Spectators using StreamTimeLive with Chat view will experience an improved multimedia content. The Website http://www.achsBoatParade.org contains a link to StreamTimeLive’s Algonac Ship Cam on YouTube™.
If your in the greater Algonac area please consider registering for this parade which honors the memory of our college, Brian Cuthbertson.

Matt, thank you for promoting this wonderful event. We participated last year and had a great time. Ern Mink does a first class job of organizing the day.
Many of us knew Brian as both a great marine mechanic and a friend. This tribute to him could not be more deserved.
Tiger Lily in that beautiful blue water last year!
I think I watched a video from that parade which was very interesting and a nice tribute to Brian.
