It’s Wednesday afternoon and fellow Woody Boaters from all around the country are beginning to arrive at Lake Dora for the big show this weekend. The weather is warm and after a long winter, there’s a party atmosphere in the air!

Jim Frechette (below) and Mark Fender are here from Austin, Texas with “Moxie” – A very cool 1930 20′ Chris-Craft Model 100 Runabout.

Jim Staib is here with “Lucky 7” his cool U-22 Chris-Craft.

Fellow Woody Boaters Jimmy & Patrick From Virginia

We received a report of a very interesting Chris-Craft triple which was spotted across the lake… According to our sources, they arrived to Lake Dora early looking to snag some collectors addition “Sons of Varnish” tee shirts…

They were told to cruise along the north shoreline and look for the “Sons of Varnish” banner hanging on the boat house at Woody Boater Headquarters…

Antique & Classic boats are coming in from every direction…

Stay tuned to Woody Boater for more live-ish updates from Lake Dora.

Ha, you are going to be VERY disappointed when I get the dock in and more importantly the flag pole up and I start whining for a flag again!

I’ll try and put together a couple articles for you this summer.  I am really good at poor spellign and gramer but my photography is a little hit or miss.

Has it really been one year since the last Sunnyland Show?  Wow.  I feel like I haven’t seen Mayer in a century!  Make that a Century!

Yes Alex, Our one year anniversary is coming up. And I suppose I will never see you in a Century!

    Giddy up!

    Mike – It’s even worse than that…

I think Alex is flying in to Orlando on Commander Airlines, and then renting an XK to drive to Tavares!

  7. Alex
    Alex says:

Commander Airlines was actually Delta.  Packed in like cattle.  And no XK.  Thought I’d live a little, so negotiated a Camaro — up from the Camry they had for me.  Should have taken the Camry.  Found only one good thing about the Camaro: the power windows are the fastest I’ve ever seen.  However, horrendous seats (back went into spasm).  Excess curb weight.  Cheap, ill-styled interior components, with illogical ergonomics.  V6 (hey, it’s a rental) has pretty good oomph with over 300 hp.  But at idle and modest acceleration, sounds no different that a family sedan.  What’s with that???    Gee, I wonder why they don’t sell many of these cars.

Oh, I’m sorry.  Am I venting on the wrong blog?

Is that the “Smith” brothers in that photo ??? Matt and Martin ???  Wow…they look alike and both afflected with extreme varnishitittis.
