1946ish Whatchamacallit On Ebay!

That is one good looking watchmacallit.

That is one good looking watchmacallit. i like that havenoidea trailer..

It is what it is, what ever it is. Wow, there is a country music song with that line just waiting to be written. There are countless crappy ads for boats out there. Dark shots of partial boats in garages or just a tarp. There are ads for boats that are sold as jewles, but you can tell they are pure crap. Or the kind were the owner thinks he or she has one sort of boat, but its really another. Well, my fellow Woodyboaterites. Not this time. this seller on ebay, calls it for what it is. An Ish Whatchamacallit.

We love the ad for its downright honesty. Some great pics and description. No hard sell, or fluff. Anyone have an idea what it is? If you know, maybe it’s worth more than it is? Here is the listing on ebay.

You still have time to put together a controversial backup story on tax day and wood boats. Tie in Larry Flynt, the Pope, North Korea and the Canadian penny and it should really take off.

Looks like there is some interest and a few bids, hopefully somebody will give her some much needed love. Hope to see her restored & in the water in a few years. Thanks Matt!

That is a worthy boat. Someone will get a good deal, and a load of work ahead.

    Save this one!

Hang on. James the Seller says that the boat is 18 ft. and Bill says it is 19.5 ft. That seems to be a bit of a difference, no?

Maybe it is just an issue like George from Seinfeld had about “Shrinkage” when “wood” is subjected to water in the pool.

And how do we really know that it is a Gar – did not Centurys have those rather large “drain” holes on the far sides of the transom as well ????

Alex, I swore off restoring another boat after the last one, but that is a good one……. I do have another project in mind though…

Lucky for you there is no “buy it now” or you might be planning a trip to Tennessee 

    Alex,

If you buy it, I might be interested in the trailer. The description, “home made and not safe for the road” is right up my alley. I even have a roadworthy trailer to trade for it if your interested.

The owner of this boat thought it was a Century. I looked at it and said Garwood.. Then found a photo of the Sedan version in the Garwood book.. I told him what it was..
