Attention all you Swisscraft fans. There is one on ebay. Right there in Germany. Hopefully someone from the US of A will get it, just for the story alone. Its been all redone, nice finish, looks cool.
And you can use the purchase as an excuse to go to Europe to buy it. mmmmm some weisswurst, a nice roll, sweet mustard, beer..mmmmm…….beer….

Certainly for that price, you can afford to ship it to Idaho and be the only SwissCraft in the western Untited States. That is a reasonable buy it now price, from what I can see in the pic’s. Gas or Diesel? Power plant is not in yet? A good marine survey would be worth the effort before hand. We have a few Grand Crafts here where they spent more. So worth looking into. Yes.

As the seller says, this is a REAL classic boat. He must have read this discussion on the fake Gar Wood/Garwood.
Forget bringing it back to the US. That would be perfect for my lakefront home on Lac Lucerne. If I had a lakefront house on Lac Lucerne. It would look good on lake Annecy as well. Someone should pick this up and start the European Woodyboater bureau on an alpine lake.

Well, at 51 years old and being built by a long established Swiss manufacturer, it certainly is now a classic. I like the looks of this boat; Shepherd-esque to my eye.
The seller is attuned to the needs of the North American buyer when he comments on the availability of alternate power. While perhaps a servicable little motor, that diesel is likely to be disappointing to those of us who enjoy the sound and power characteristics of a V-8 gas engine – though by 1963, certainly not a flathead. This diesel probably has great torque though. Price seems fair for a very unique and interesting piece.

I’ve shipped many boats from Europe to California. There are many variables, the most important is whether or not it will fit inside a container in terms of beam. Otherwise you have to go RORO or flat rack.
Its been a while since I shipped a boat but I would guess its at least $10K by the time your done with handling, shipping, insurance and US Duty.
There are many other details like winterizing the boat, VAT, European duty, etc. etc.

Quite like a vintage Riva, but still being custom-built near Zurich. Available state-side at Carolina Watersports. I saw one at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show- they’re incredible!
So this guy goes to Germany to buy a boat and finds himself in a small town which has best sausage in the country (according to a friend in Toronto). He sees the shop and makes a u-turn to park in front. Local cop gave him a ticket for taking a turn for the wurst!
That said, it is a lovely boat indeed.
