Attention Lyman Freaks, Your Ship…Tender Has Come In.

Dang! 1927 Lyman
First off, we are all freaks, so don’t be offended you Lymanytes. Yes I made that up. But I do kinda like it. Anyway, on Facebook Marketplace, the greatest show on earth, between the gold plated toilets and old used underwear we..okay..I found this amazing jewel. And looking even deeper, dang a fellow WoodyBoater. Hence the freak name calling. It’s a brotherhood of sorts. And yes, some sistas. Okay and some dogs, maybe a cat or two. ANYWAY, where was I?

WOW, love the presentation as well
Oh ya, this amazing “1927 15’ Lyman Speed Tender, believed to be the last of its kind in existence. It comes complete with a period correct Lockwood Chief racing outboard as shown in the factory brochure photos. This boat was built by Lyman in Cleveland prior to their move to Sandusky, designed to run Class B and Class C outboards during the early days of outboard racing. It was the precursor to the reverse lapstrake racing boats Lyman developed in the 1930s. The hull is clear cypress over white oak frames and Spanish cedar interior seating. Overall condition is fairly good given the age and its history of a race boat. Comes with a trailer made from a model T chassis but will need a lengthened tongue to be road worthy. A great addition to the collection of any serious Lyman enthusiast. Located in Avon, Ohio between Cleveland and Sandusky. Offered at $3,750.”

I wouldn’t touch a thing

The OG Lymanyte?
Yes I copied and pasted Ryans paragraph. I also used Ryans pictures. And yes, his dog! Who just had a Birthday. You can click Here for the Facebook Ad, and also stalk Ryan on his facebook page.

Happy birthday!
Good morning everyone. My question is to Matt, How much more time until you arrive to pick it up
HA! I have some distractions. This is now every morning. She wants to help.
What a centerpiece for a man cave. I agree, I wouldn’t touch a thing. Way too nice to disturb that 1927 patina!
Wow, that’s amazing to see that someone had the foresight to preserve a boat this old and in this condition for almost a hundred years! It’s beautiful just as it is.
I do question anyone who has a Ram, a Ford, AND a GMC pickup truck. This level of (what’s the word I’m looking for for?) is unheard of in America!
That orange bilge paint could literally be anything but it looks suspiciously like red lead. Yeah, I’d leave that alone.
A cool little boat, motor, and trailer. Definitely a piece of boating history. I think you should buy it Matt, and hang it in the railway. Do your part to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Lyman. Show some lap streak Lyman love. I feel a Daisy chain coming on again. Although we would need a flatbed trailer to put that model T trailer on.
It looks like the steam bent ribs were doubled up in that hull… Cool boat!
do not disturb
Wow, look at the beautiful lines of that tumblehome. Wondering what model, looks very early too. Thanks SAL.
In the photo from the transom forward, I think I see can daylite between the stem and the planks. But then it is almost a hundred years old.
Spent way too much time drooling over this skiff. The number of ribs are insane and beautiful. Its too bad our options for original patina boat usage are not the same or as practical as a classic or antique car in reality.
