While reporting on this years 2013 International awards in Idaho, we were not surprised to see long time fellow Woody Boater Dan Nelson’s name on the list. For the past 4 years Dan has taken home the gold, glass, silver thing that is handed out.  In 2007 Lake George, 1941 19 barrel (best restored ) owned by Brud Ludington
Bay Harbor in 2010, 1941 19 barrel  (best resorted) different boat. Owned by Jack Beatly
Table Rock in 2012, 1955 Higgins sports speedster, and now Lu Lu III best preserved and winner of best of show at court d Alene.

You may recall us reporting on Lu Lu III  a 1930 Hacker reportedly in the 1930 hacker catalog. at the Warner auction when it was bought by Jack Beatly. He thought he was bidding on another boat. maybe he bought the right boat after all? Way to go Jack.

The “only “work Dan had to do was spruce her up, and put a new bottom on the boat and replaced a couple of deck planks but the rest of the boat is original and as not been refastened… AMAZING AMAZING!
