Boat Stalking. Oh It’s A Thing! ROGO DAY!

Oh! What is that I see?

We are all guilty of this. So. Don’t judge Alex Watson for doing exactly what we would do in the same situation. Okay, we are not talking about pictures of some actress at the beach. We are talking about something even more beautiful. A stunning Sea Skiff. Oh and not just any Sea Skiff. A rare Semi Enclosed one of eight made, and this one has been way way way over resotered. Oh hell ya!

The Good Book Guides Us All

WOW, Like the Matthews Martinique

Like stalking Betty White after a boob job, facelift and a 50 gallon drum of botox. WOW, that was a tad harsh, and I like Betty White. Bad, bad, Matt. Thanks Alex, see what you have caused. Now I have pissed off all the Betty White lovers. Wait, not Bettys Lovers, but the people that love Betty. Jesus, this just keeps getting worse as I write. I am just going to let the photos do the talking. I need to go call my therapist now.

Wait, a Canadian Flag and no Bumpers? What? I am so confused.

Beautiful watercraft. I know it is very rare since I have never seen one in Michigan. I hope that changes some day!

    Great looking boat!

When I sent you the pic of the Bible I was one page off. Pretty sure this is one of 81 hulls made from 57 – 60.

One of the engine options was a single M? That must have been one horrible performer! I wonder if any were actually ordered that way.

I saw this boat when we were at Clayton a few years ago., It looks just as great in person as in pictures. The owner was giving tours so I went aboard. It is a labor of love for sure.

Is that one picture another helm in the cabin? I can’t figure out where it would be.

It’s so rare I see a classic day boat on my 8,000+ miles up and down the coast over two years. A handful at best. More of the large classic cruisers — several Trumpy’s (swoon), some vintage Burger’s (another swoon), a few invincible Commanders, not a single Connie, and only one 25’ Sportsman — thanks for the fix Matt! So stumbling on this Skiff was a real treat. I actually went over to sniff the varnish. I get to look at her for 5 more days before we move on. Pic is of WECATCHEM circling us on Chesapeake like a big mahogany shark. 🙂

I loved this model when I first saw it in a CC brochure, but it was about the same time that I discovered the Matthews Martinique — but the Martinique won out with the soft top version back in ’56!

I don’t know how many of the 40-ft Cavaliers CC produced, but was probably in the same ballpark as the Martinique during the true Express days in 1956 -7 (7). In 1958 the Martinique turned into a shortened Sedan style look.

Hey Bob, is that a Sea Skiff, foredeck looks shorter. Maybe it’s just the perspective.

After looking closer it sure is, went back and compared it to the picture of the blue hull in the story and it looks the same exact boat.
