Cheating Winter, A Halloween Treat.
If you live in the Mid Atlantic area you had one heck of a weekend. 70 on Saturday and 80 Sunday with little wind. It was “one of those weekends” you dream of. Just blissful time out on the water with family. The boatress was in fuel smiles and between getting the yard ready for winter, got out on some nice runs.
At least 3/4 s of a tank full. I will admit though being anxious, not sure why. I think it was knowing that this may be the last of it. But you never know here in Virginia. The locals all say its magic until Thanksgiving. We have pushed it that far here. So how was your weekend?
Did you throw the boat back in the water? Or are you done with it all? I know one thing is for sure, WECATCHEM’S varnish is shot and glad to be headed up to Katzs in a couple weeks for a nice Varnish Job and getting ready for her big Lake Dora fun in March. Ugh…
As we headed out one more time, It was interesting that we were headed into the Summer sun shine and behind us you could see a hint of the grey of winter. Like we were being chased by Winter. Happy Halloween!
Truly a fine weekend in Virginia! Not done by a long shot…..going to cruise to the Oyster Fest in Urbanna this coming weekend!
Nice shots off the boat…..thanks again for the great ride we all took in her in Sept.
John in Va.
Got in two rides yesterday.
It was windy and in the 50’s in the ANE, but the wind died in the late afternoon for a very nice river ride. (still in the low 50’s though)
no hoodies…swimsuits for the beach near Windmill Point !
Diving Miss Maggie…even dogs love a last gasp-
that’s driving!
A warm but windy Saturday on Lake Erie made for a good day to hoist and winterize the Lyman
Cruising to the hoist
After two new coats of varnish and a couple of unanticipated new planks, Rabbit hit the water just in time for a 70-degree end-of-October northwestern Wisconsin sunset cruise. Maybe one more weekend, then she’ll be ready for her long winter sleep in the boathouse.
Highs were in the mid 70s here on Craig’s Creek Lake, KY. Took advantage of a flat river for a beautiful Friday evening ski. A bit breezy both Sat & Sunday, but we had to have another go anyway Sunday afternoon. Bacon cheeseburgers on the porch & then took the Aristocraft for a few laps of the lake. Looks like highs will be down 10-12 degrees this coming weekend, so we’ll likely put the woody away & try to get in a couple more ski runs (in full wetsuits). A great year when you can ski into November!
In upper 70’s here in N. Florida…Saw 100+ neat antique and classic vehicles at show in Apalachicola.
50’s and raining here in Seattle – normal weather… Regarding the header – that’s pretty harsh – just because someone forgot to pull in the fender??? 🙂
