Do You Have What It Takes To Read This Story?
Today is a test, or a fun game? Either way, can you read this story and not think of what immediately comes to mind? And further more, comment on it without referencing that thought. As if the “term” never existed. BTW the first time the “term” was used was in 1927. So hey, it was out there, possibly when these boats with a very cool tin bottom were introduced. And the Beaver Boat Co, made boats for years.
Actually, all joking aside, these are very very cool, and restoring one would be a cool project. Would make an incredible show boat for sure. The hardest part of being at a show would be hearing the same jokes over and over. Maybe a sign in front of the boat with all the jokes already all laid out? The fun part is it would be the center of attention since very few of the younger generation has seen a…. See.. I stopped. YOU CAN BUY THIS BROCHURE ON EBAY IN ONE CLICK – A special thanks to fellow Woody Boater Alan Frederick for the tip.
I think the brochure may be wrong they were built in Troy Mi just up the road from Detroit …exit 69 Big beaver road (and yes that is the exit from I75 to Big Beaver
Wait! Beaver Boats built in TROY, NY.
That is tooo much!
I will add a link, we will see if Matt publishes it?
I think the fun would be to see if any spectators could come up with a joke that I had not yet heard.

You must have a lot of free time!
Hope I never grow up
Thanks for keeping us giggling matt
I had heard of Beaver Boat Co., but never saw one and did not know about the aluminum bottom. Another educational moment on WoodyBoater!
I think what is interesting is that it’s advertised as in the water or on land. They’re introducing “trailering” as a new concept. Says the aluminum clad bottoms would not require soak-up time as other traditional woodies would being out of the water. I’m sure they used yard trailers back in the 20’s but over the road trailering was a new concept.
Still the best beaver joke from Leslie Nielsen.
Right up there with “What Knockers”!
Thank goodness we women outgrow this childish innuendo obsession! For all you overgrown 12 year old boys, WDVE radio in Pittsburgh blessed you with a song about nearby Beaver, PA.
I knew this would be impossible to contain. But before 9AM? HA
Round 2?
I have nothing cleaver to add today. I wish I did. The only thing I can say is that beavers and wood go well together. What a great morning, and you tied it to boats Matt.
Off the rails.
Really neat boat though.
So many of us pervs are snowed in…just sayin…..
as for Troy…”leave it to Beaver”….

As of 9:45 a Jan 6 the booklet has either been taken down or sold. $49.99
Heh heh heh….heh..heh…heh…
You said beaver.
Heh….heh…heh
There is only one Castor canadensis.
In all seriousness – I have to wonder how long a wooden boat with a bottom clad in aluminum would actually last? That may be why there is only one (1938 19′) listed in the ACBS directory…
I agree Dick, any water getting into the bilge is going to sit there and marinate in that aluminum slow cooker that’s shaped like a boat hull unless the owner has the sense to pump it out to let it dry. But there would still be damp wood in there getting mildew and rotting away I would think.
Sure, I’d love to continue this childish horseplay. Its what I live for.
I think it’s interesting that Dick had the best take on the Beaver.
Speaking of that, after 30 years in the hobby I still haven’t seen a Beaver……maybe this is my year?? Maybe I’ll get to judge one?? Hopefully I won’t have to restore one……
In Beaver Creek Colorado there is of course a store called Beaver Liquors. I think they sell more souvenir t-shirts than Bourbon.
There’s probably a lot more profit in just selling those shirts than liquor although I don’t see many liquor stores going out of business. Weren’t liquor stores essential businesses? Matt needs to come up with a similar t-shirt for Beaver Boats with a catchy phrase contest. “Beaver Boats – get the ride of your life on a Beaver”
Yeah. Or something like ” It could get a little hairy riding in a Beaver”
Sorry couldn’t resist.
