Exclusive 1942 Chris Craft Hydro Footage!

Thanks to the good folks at Katz’s Marina with Tommy at the helm, we can now watch Miss Step going through her paces on Lake Dora. You can feel the boat lift and serge when she lifts out of the water. This was one of the highlights of my years in classic boating. WOW! Enjoy.

Really enjoyed the video. Especially cool for me, as the shots over the bow that did not show the guages look exactly like my CC deluxe, Water Lily. It was nice to make believe that I had her out on the lake again!

I can’t wait to write up the article for the Brass Bell on the myth of the Hydro.

As always it was a great time shooting with Texx and Matt.

The myth is a great story. Worth subscribing to the brass bell for alone! Dons photos are amazing. You guys should do the first centerfold for the bell.. Likes.. GAS.. Tearing up and down the coast. Turn offs. Plastic anything..

    Absolutely Stunning! Great footage.

“Footage”? What a strange word. It’s all on a tiny microchip these days. What’s the new term for that?

What kind of speed did she attain?

In 1942, the year I was born, they were still measuring the time between mile markers and calculating the speed using long division. Dad used his hand-held calculator; a slide rule.
