Gasping At The Railway
Since I have not gotten any more gasps, I thought you may want to see Sweet Pea getting some work. We are putting stainless straps, u bolts around her keel to support it since some of the keel bolts have lost some of there magic over the years. It’s been a tough gig for sure. Drill holes in the bottom through the keel is nerve racking for sure. But moving two 50 gallon water tanks is insane. Yikes.
I also have put 3 coats of different colored primer on the hull to clean up some old paint jobs. This system allows you to see the imperfections. Helps with previous heavy brush strokes. And if we are going with a dark gloss paint, she needs to be as smooth as possible. Oh well, its just paint!
Big boat and a big job. You and George will be staying out of trouble for a while!
Would love to see a close up of one of those u-bolt keel reinforcement things.
Ya, I am curious to see that too. Are the U-bolts going on the outside of the keel? If you put enough of them it would give you some good protection against against that nasty ledge off of Fleeton Point.
Now I know how briant feels, made a late comment yesterday and I don’t think anyone even saw it.
Its Wayne bomb and I with Georges brain. Its a mash up of sorts.
Has the font size changed or do I need stronger “readers”?
I too think the font seems smaller. But thought it must just be me, after not visiting Woodyboaterville for several days, while busy playing race cars in ATL.
Show the U bolt methodology, inquiring minds need to know.
I am not sure, we just yesterday started the new website process and migrated the site to a new “less expensive” server. I am focusing energy on the new site, and yes going to change the email feature that keeps crapping out.
Like Greg, Troy & Bilge Rat, I’d like to see closeups of the U bolt reinforcement system.
Matt is there a reason that you are not utilizing a pick to paint the hull, I would think that it would make life a lot easier and faster. Just asking for a friend.
I like others, would like to see a close up of those u bolts and straps. You knew there was a reason you bought the Railway Matt. After seeing this it reminds me why I don’t own a wooden cruiser.
