I Hope You Had A Great Classic Boat Weekend. We Did!

We went out on Suzy, our 24 foot Sportsman and the new 1970 Whaler for a fun run between rain storms. Thats Hank our Boulder bureau at the helm holding Oreo!

This weekend was the last weekend that my son was going to be Virginia before heading back to our Boulder bureau. Since I have been at boat shows since March, it was the perfect weekend to stay at home and go Woody Boating. This weekend was very grey and gloomy here in Virginia, but that did not stop us, and shockingly set up some very cool pics. And yes, you can click and enlarge!

Hank and John out on Keeper, the Boatresses 1970 Sakonnet Boston Whaler, the original bearcat 55 4 cycle engine is fun as all get out.

Hank and John getting that Bearcat going! Note the hull reg number!

The Boatress at her first time at the helm of “Keeper” Phew, She loves it.. “Lets go fish’n!” I am the luckiest son of a $&%^ on the planet!

The Boatress, with Suzy following in our wake in Reedville VA!

The gang out on Suzy, That thing is a beast. That Van Ness Lincoln just pulls away everytime. Note to self. Buy more Exxon stock!

Hank and John pulling out into Ingrim Bay on route to the Great Wicomico.

While we were out playing, fellow Woody Boater Jim Scott was out on a film shoot for a Commercial being shot on the Potomac. These shots were shot on an iPad, while mine above were all on my iphone. I love modern technology!

Jimmy in Yannon, and some of the film crew out for some fun on the Potomac River.

Look’s like the Whaler is a big hit with the family! I think you may have covered a lot of Christmas presents early this year. Our club had a great weekend of boating at the “Cruising for a Cure” event at Torch Lake. You are going to have a ball there next year.

Nice photos! SUZY looks in all her glory with BOTH flags flying so proud. Had a great woody boating weekend myself. Started in Minocqua, Wi and moved to Eagle River, WI. So much fun I think I’ll extend the weekend for a couple more days.

Thanks to Jim and FineWoodBoats.com Shameless plug! for making the bow flag available so fast. Actually in this shot that bow flag made the shot!

Yep, perfect cool, breezy, overcast day on the bay, I went cruising too….sadly I cruised to the Deltaville Maritime Museum on Mill Creek and shed a tear from the boat….they will rise again.

Hope I can get my 24′ Sportsman to look half as good as “SUZY”. The rake of the bow pole really compliments the rake of the bow and windshield. CC had excellent proportional lines in this model. Even the transom has a nice roll to it and gentle curves to the top sides for a big boat.

Lots of things to varnish on this boat, phew. Whaler’s looks damn good as well you lucky bastards are living the life.

Whoops, sorry about the profanity, delete it if it offends, just too envious for words.
