If I Lived Close To It!
I have this thing about finding cool I wanna boats. If I can drive there in a day, it’s a deal, and if its next door, get outta my way. I also have this curse that I fall in love with boats out on the left coast. The amazing deals on amazing cruisers and this latest little jewel in Oregon. A flawless well kept Palomino on ebay.
Now they are playing the reserve game, which is a pet peeve of mine. I mean its a classic boat, and probably one of 5 in the world in that shape, name your price. These boats transend the normal outboard low ball pricing if it is what the photos look like. Regardless, its $2,000 shipping to here in Virginia and there is a nice one on Smith Mountain Lake i think for sale. Did i mention we will be at Smith Mountain lake this weekend? PLUG HERE. Anyway back to being close to your dream boat. Its not like I wont make a 12 hr drive? But thats about the limit. And sorry Oregon is about as far as one could imagine. Ugh.
Cool boat, but not something I would drive across the country for.
Dr’s Orders? Maybe.
So, you pay somebody out there to look the boat over. Then you put out a call for an empty hitch coming east in the next several weeks and your golden. With all the daily readership you have here, surely the distance problem would be surmountable. Price? Well that you would have to deal with if it was next door. Might raise a few dissenters on the site if you bought a Century, though.
I would love a Century, a Thunderbolt is a top 10 boat, a pink Roan and a Palomino.
You did your southern cross-country road trip. With some planning you could go pick it up and come across the Northern part. Hit the Century show in Manistee, MI Sept 16-18 and wander home.
So you gotta thing for cows. MOOOOO. It should be a Holstein instead of a Palomino.
Matt, you are going to look marvelous in that Palomino
From the Century stable, I would love to have a classic wood SeaMaid or a glass Cheetah, but the Holstein cow boats rank pretty low on my list of boat desires.
Arrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh
You’d have to wear a cheese head hat in that thing. I agree it looks more cow hide than horse hide.
And that would be a paint & not a palamino…
Bend, Oregon? Heck, that is only about two hours away. Mayer should buy this….he always has a cool boat or two in his stable.
nice trailer
