Thanks to fellow Woody Boater Bob Weaver for sending in a reminder Last Gasp to get it done before it gets too cold. Bob is from the Buffalo area and well, his Dodge Watercar got towed to be winterized in 39 degree weather. Great photos. This time of year can even make a towing in look fantastic.

Yep, had to tow the Aristocraft to the ramp to take it out for the winter. Beginning to consider giving up on the carbureted two-stroke.

Even I spotted that and I’m a damned Limey! Mind you, I was once all ready to set up home in beautiful Oregon when your Imigration people cried, “Full up” and we lost the chance. |I was about to move the whole family out there and I WOULD have had a woody, but there we go. Life’s a beach ain’t it? Love that brass bedecked Watercar, though. Is he calling his mechanic “in no uncertain terms”?

Yep. She was moored at the marina when it happened. I’ve been there for 4 years and I never had a problem or heard of any problems. Just bad luck I guess.
Watch out for those rocks! If they get big enough, this can happen…..(photo from gilligansisle.com)….
As much as I like old boats. I would rather see a picture of Mary Ann or Ginger. Rocks and boats don’t mix well
Bob, we’ve all been under tow at some point. Welcome to the fraternity. I guess, with out any chocks on the foredeck, you had to use the fairlead to keep the bow tracking well. But oh how lucky you were not to have pulled out the screws by having the tow angle be so high, at least as it appears in the photo. A couple of wakes could have possibly caused nastiness …..
