It’s The Weekend. You Know What You Gotta Do. I Don’t.

Ready to go?

Here in the Mid Atlantic its been a little up and down with the temps and lots of wind. So it creates a okay lets go, oh wait mind set. I have B al ready to go into the drink. But I think, Okay, and then an excuse comes up, and then I pass. UGH. I own 8 docks. Yes, I have dock space for a fleet. BUT, cant just leave some of these boats in the water. Because it’s brackish water, the smaller boats would get slime on the bottoms and then it becomes a clean up thing. One idea is too install a boat ramp. YES. But that aint cheap. But may be the way to go at HQ, Or have a gantry type system extending out from the central building.

IKE and B ready

This may become this summers project. SLIM is done and Howard Hughs Tender is gonna be the next in the que. That thing is a mess. Like a serious mess. So the idea of it becoming a large overhead light is becoming a more interesting idea. She does look cooler from the inside, so hanging upside down may be her next chapter.

SLIM is gold leafed now. Now gonna be a party cooler

And then there is always the spontaneous project that I don’t see coming. A 21 ft Whaler Outrage banana boat? Or a Century Thunderbolt, which is kinda the holy grail of projects.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I also may, should, will, need to clear out some stuff to keep the fun going. I can’t stand stuff that isnt used. Anyway, thats my current little hell, such is the case when the idea of sitting all day doing nothing is my idea of hell.  Unless I am just hanging at HQ looking out at the water and listening to tunes with the Boatress, and the pooches. Okay and some friends, okay and maybe some snacks. Oh wait, thats tomorrow, I need to clean up today some more. YIKES.

You better get ready for Suzy’s party. You know what they say about a happy wife!

On a side note, I saw this on Fakebook this morning. Having grown up in Detroit within a few miles of where they ran the boats, it is a sad story. As a kid, I would always get down there for practice and time trial days, even if I did not go to the actual races. When I got older I would watch the races.
The sounds and excitement were amazing!

Sad to see. We’re about 40 min from Madison, IN & go every few years, to see the vintage race boats. Amazing sights & sounds!

An overhead system would be awesome, I keep dreaming about it for the cottage. Pair it with a big building and cradles on wheels and you can move them about and launch whichever ever.

You already have a railway going into the water, I wonder what it would take to create a system for launching smaller craft off of that? Kind of like up at Gull Lake.

Or maybe just a way to lift smaller boats off of the railway cradle and onto a trailer.

With all the flooding at the railway just let the air out of the trailer tires and let the boats float off. (Sorry, I went there)
