My Favorite Things – Woody Boater Version
At some point during the holidays you may hear the popular song “My Favorite Things” the show tune from the 1959 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The Sound of Music.
In the spirit of the holidays, we thought it would be fun re-work the lyrics and do a Woody Boater version of “My Favorite Things” – It may not make the America’s Top 40 but here goes.
Caution this is NOT the Julie Andrews version.
If you would like some background music for effect, you have to Hummm
Pinstripes on deck seams and fresh scent of varnish,

Bright coloured Rivas built mostly for Kings,
These are a few of my favorite things!

Thanks for including the shot of double lapstrakes so I could fully appreciate my favorite things.
Nice idea, but please…no apostrophes for plurals!! And "seams" isn't spelled "seems".
Call me pedantic, but the spelling is the ONLY thing that can spoil WoodyBoater.
BTW, what's that amazing chrome topped thing?
Martin
But Martin, his spelling is part of the very fabric of WoodyBoater, his unique application of punctuation (or lack thereof) is as much a part of WoodyBoater as WoodyBoats are. These things are as much a part of his success right here as his unique stories, don't you think?
It wouldn't be nearly as much fun if all of this were perfect.
By the way, great lyrics!
Nice job and keep the misspellings coming. It's part of what makes us smile in the mornings. Gotta go now and give my boat a hug.
Werks for me.
Thanks Martin, repears have been made and seam to work better.
The amazing chrome topped thing is the custom bow light from from Alan Thomle's 1921 Yandt 33' Gentlemans Raceboat "Greyhound" from Seattle, WA. You can see a full size shot of "Greyhound" above.

Is it just me or do Nu Zeelanders tawk funny? Now being from Nu Yawrk…..
As part of my usually routine, I opened Woodyboater with my cup of coffee this morning and I have since had the tune of “My favorite things” in my head all day long. Thanks Matt.

Ooops!!! I just noticed this was posted by Texx. Well, in that case, I can understand the desire for the corrections! Good observation, Martin.
Rob, I too have been humming that tune. I think it should become the WoodyBoater Theme Song.
Great pictures and rhyme
