Philip Andrew Gets His Seasonal Revenge!

Dang that is one cool bum boat!

Dang that is one cool bum boat!

While we all have been playing in the summer waters, poor Philip has had to just wait, cause in New Zealand it’s winter when it’s summer here. So, guess what? It’s springtime for Phil. And he was kind enough to share with us the first soaking of his insane nice original Century Palomino. As Phil called it. Getting her bum wet! So never fear, as we soon will be chipping ice off the windsheild of life, Phil I am sure will share more summer fun!

Have fun Phil! Love the header with the grape vines still not leafed out and Sparkle Horse still covered but on its way, all showing promise of bursting out. Darn now the math, does Phil need to do it in metric?

Every time I see the seats in this I get sick. I get it, their just fugly. Nice motor, there must be a c-130 someplace waiting to refuel it.

Dang! The seats are the value here. Very iconic of the time period and original. Design extremes are the best part of collecting. I love this seats!

Thanks, Philip. It’s always a treat to see photos of this boat and know the great care it is receiving. You spur the restorers among us to lofty heights. Definite chill in the air here today. Soon time to head to Florida and my winter project waiting there. Enjoy your summer !

Whew! every time you post a pic of a trailer boat on the side of the road….I figure P. Harrison has dropped an axel or some such!
    great story.

M-fine…..Now I know why I enjoy your comments so much. You think Century boats sink when in reality they just race past you so fast you don’t realize how they blow you off…..

And how many years out of the water and it just got dumped in and off we went. M-Fine thought it sank and instead it just blew off a few “down under” beauties. …………………………..

We should have copyrighted the US flag. New Zealanders stole our design! Or is Phillip a transplanted American Patriot?

The seats remind me of the Gateway Computer boxes from the 1990s. Anybody remember those?

    I don’t mind those seats.

I’d much rather admire arty seats in a woody than all the plastic boat *#$% being featured around here lately…

Good to see that great trailer again, and, of course, the beautiful Century getting wet again. Enjoy your SUMMER!

Beautiful. Another anal retentive ad guy like you, Matt, and a few others of us who fixate on the details… in a good way.

The little Palomino has had a long wait between drinks having been at Todd Warner’s showroom for more than a decade then with me in Wellington for 4 years. She took on only a liter of water and the engine ran sweetly. The 50 horse pushes the boat along pretty fast on glassy water.
    Sure hoovers the gas though!

Purchased gas yesterday for $2.999 per gal in St. Louis. First time below the 3 dollar mark in quite a while. I shiver at the thought of the price for gasoline in New Zeland.

Congratulations Philip – It’s great to see the mighty Palomino back in the water.

She has had quite a journey from the Warner Auction in Winsted, Minnesota (2010) to her new home in New Zealand. And we know she is in good hands with the Andrew family.
