Please Tune In Monday For An Epic Classic Boat Three Part Adventure.
As you know we here at Woody boater are prone to go Giraldo Rivara on promoting stories. The finding of the On Golden Pond Boats, and other jaw dropping adventures. This coming Monday is one of those times, but in an entirely different tone. Alex Watson has spent close to 6 weeks working on this breath taking story..Texx is putting it together as I type and will no doubt be doing so all weekend. please trust me, this is no set up for a punch line. The story is true, and took time because the emotions are still raw with the people involved. So why am I teasing you all on this? Because it’s so massive it needed to be broken into 3 days. The rules on engagement on the web, is no more that 250-300 words. People just don’t read longer than that.. This will break all the rules and we promise, keep you glued to your screen the entire time. Don’t miss it…. The next few months are going to be fast and furious here at WoodyBoater as spring time comes closer and stories will be zipping by. So put on your life jackets, It’s gonna be a wet Monday
If you are trying to promote an upcoming story, skip all the wordiness and stick to tried and true attentions getters like hot women, babies and puppies. Or, promise free beer (or bacon) to one of the readers of Monday’s special feature. The Twitter generation only reads the first 140 characters let alone words.
Hot women and bacon, or hot women wearing bacon, yah thats it….
What was i thinking? I agree.. OK, show up and I will have dancing puppies delivering beer and chips to your chair, we will have dancing cats who chase parrots that imitate the sound of a flat head..
I think it already sounds like a movie. Can you imagine? “Woody Boater” rubs raw the emotions of thousands while telling the story of __________________? I mean if it takes 3 days to do the spiel, then it’s good for 2 sequel movies. Now for the lead? Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, ??
Can Jenifer Aniston play “Woody Boater Gal”?
I can see it now: The opening scene on a lake in northern New England…….Oh wait – that was “On Golden Pond”. Well how about northern Michigan, or Wisconsin?
Thou dost tease me – Me thinks.
Is this another “Bond” flick, or what?
When you read this, it could be and should be a movie.. I read it, and my A.D.D is.. Oh look a poney..
Thats the level of your ‘responsibility’ to reality?
I allow some misspellings, I just don’t require them.
The header looks like where I played and fished, as a kid; Grand Haven, MI.
I await the Epic 3-part adventure!
m-fine, I’m at The Islander, in Hessel, playing the part of a writer. A sign on the wall here says “Free Beer, Tomorrow.” Guess I’ll come back. Tomorrow. And tomorrow. And tomorrow. And… Oh look a quarter…
Alex, there are more quarters behind the other toilet as well.
OK! I get it now. It’s Alex the Chris Craft Guy as portrayed in the “Brass Bell”. The story – a fantasy – is the X19 beats a Century Arabian!!!!!
HMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!
Jack. Now that IS a fantasy. Because, as I keep telling people, there is NO way my boat could beat Mayer’s to the bottom.
300 Words, is that the story or peoples replies?
A ZINGER! Nice one Captain Grumpy…
Looks like the Grand Haven light and home of the Coast Guard.
allenlee,
Correct you are, and my honest mistake. I mistook it for one on Lake Erie or Lake Ontario in my online images search. Matt will apparently change it tomorrow, and I will be flogged when I see him next. But, you know, Lake Michigan FLOWS into Erie and Ontario, so technically, some of the water you see in this pic has already passed, or will surely pass through the other Lakes. So I get an E, but not an F. Thanks for pointing out my error.
lex: Its ok not everyone is perfect like me….
DonD, I see you also saw my error re the light house. As a reward, I’ll give you one of the quarters I found behind the toilet. The other one goes to Matt, as a finder’s fee.
I just looked at the site at this late hour, and saw the Grand Haven pier head, and had to quick read the whole site and 15 responses to see what is up in our town, and after re reading everything, I still do not know why we are honored to be the header today… I guess I just gotta stay tune for the big story on Monday…
That picture looks like one of the Great Lakes to me. Maybe even the east side of Lake Michigan. Very dangerous waters.
Great. Now I’ve got to go back behind the toilet to look for two more quarters to pay damages to these guys as well.
There’s epic mispelling in this blog all day long. And sometimes, comments utterly devoid of any punctuation. (Or are they mInimalist comments?).
But God forbid someone gets a photo wrong.
Now I’m not going to get any sleep tonight because I fear an angry mob on my lawn, burning an XK in effigy.
