Rare Dodge Sells At RM Auctions!
Ok, so Dave Bortner of Freedom Boat Service is no photographer, but he sure knows some fantastic boats. Dave took two rare boats to RM Auctions in Hershey this weekend, and the news is in. The Rare 1931 Dodge – 21.5′ Split Cockpit Runabout sold for $130,000 the hacker did not sell.
Congrats to all, well priced and an amazing water craft finds a new home. Stay tuned this week as we dive into the topic of auctions and there place in the classic boat culture!
Well, I’m glad I didn’t go to the auction. That price is out of my league, and It would have been embarassing to have been standing there crying. God I love that boat!
All many of us can do is wipe out tears and give the buyer a congratulatory pat on the back and hope to bum a ride in the future.
okay…
i went back to re-read the original story…
what happened with the Hacker, where did the bidding end?
it is a beautiful boat and i’m curious…so…
So, off topic – but for all the varnished hulls I’ve lusted after and some I’ve owned – why do I find myself drooling over that Higgins in the header photo the last 2 days?
We have one of those up here in storage, does anybody want to get any where close, to that number, it will sell. Great shape. all there, used every summer here in McCall Idaho.
Beautiful boat, Forgotten Times,
