Save A Fellow Woody Boater From Himself!
The other day, a longtime fellow Woody Boater made a starter low ball bid to help the SCAMPY – AMI students in Jacksonville Fla and ended up buying this very cool Hydro. Here he is trying to do the right thing and get the bidding rolling. AND bam, ends up with the Hydro. We have all been there. And so, here he is, having to drive this thing home, splain it to the family, and well.
You know the rest of the story. So, I said, let’s sell it on Woody Boater? And he said, great, just don’t use my name cause, well.. So here goes. You can use the comment section as an auction. Starting bid. $250 which is an insane low price….. YA, thats what he said! And so, will you be first?
Uh, don’t you need another barn hanger?
HA, I may hang ZIP up there.
No thanks. I am already storing two. One was my sons, the other has been in the family for years.
Nope – recently sold one that had been in the rafters for years…
I just ran this by my grandson who is a APBA racer and he says that it looks like a nice pond boat but isn’t a APBA candidate.
Boy, Going way bac in my history of boating. This hydro, often referred to as a “pancake hydro” because the nose was two sheets of 4 x 8 plywood (top and the bottom) met. It was my first boat, 8-footer and I got it for $8.00 when I was 10 years old, (1956). You learn fast NOT to take boat wakes straight on, cause you would get a face full of water, when the nose “SLICED” through the wake!
When I was cleaning out my dad’s dresser after he passed, to my amazement, I found the original bill of sale.
Man, if I could only FIT in one of those today, and take a fast spin around the lake…
I think you are just using this story to do more stuff on cars since you got soooooooo many comments and cool PIC’s.
My fave was Kelly’s! What a classic pic.
I’ll bid $250.
