Six Degree’s Of Separation, Or Maybe Just One Click.

The house on Spring Street Cambridge NY (1974) the year Ralph’s wife was born.
I have been sitting on this story for a bit, and to be honest not really sure how to even get into it. It’s one of those strange universe is smaller than we think stories, and even more small, the Woodyboater universe which is a Horton Hears a Who small. So, I will just lay it out. And if you can follow it. Great, if not. Join the club. OKAY, let’s go back.

Ralph Frisinia Artist in previous story

And some of his current work.
Remember when I featured an amazing artist. Ralph Frisina , Above is a sample of the art. He is an amazing artist and has a special way of bringing, things that if you look at them as art, are art. Not our Art, but other art, not that Art isn’t an art form unto himself. Did I loose you. Cause I need to sip more coffee to catch up.

The house on Spring Street / (1974) with Janet Pasco out front. Cambridge NY
Anyway, Ralph as it turns out, TOTAL COINCIDENCE .. Ralph’s wife, Katie lived as a young child, in Cambridge NY. And to make that more interesting to me is that is also where my big sister lives. HOLD on, it gets even more cosmic stranger. Well, actually in the same house! Yes, the same house in a different time.

My sisters house in Cambridge. Look familiar?
Okay it gets even more universe ish. Ralph’s father in Law, Phil Pasco is a Woodyboater! This is all from me just randomly finding Ralph’s art and featuring it. There was no connection before that. It’s a random thing, and thats the part that blows me away. How inter connected we all are if we can open up ourselves to it all.

Phil’s amazing Lyman – now with a 9hp Suzuki four stroke that he “modified” to produce the output of a 15hp. Oh hell ya! As Phil would say: “It’s a sweet little boat”.
So. Turns out Phil is a meticulous woodworker, 16′ Lyman which he’s meticulously restored up in Cambridge. and also his sail boat he restored Sarah Kuse is now housed in the foyer of the Skaneateles Historical Society.

Now of course there is far more to this story, and it also turns out that my Sister is friends with Phil. But until we talked about Ralph, who would have made that connection? Crazy? I am sure if we dig enough, Kevin Bacon is in here someplace. Did someone say Bacon?

The Barn which is now an amazing studio

Janet trying to sell a tractor in front of that same barn.

Back when WoodyBoater started. 2017 ish. Maybe its the barn that is the Muse of it all.

Cool story! Had one of those sorta moments recently myself. Found out my Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great Grandfather Frederick Ice, was buried on an island in the Cheat River. The island was later submerged, when Cheat Lake was formed for hydropower. Spent 3 summers boating on that lake when we lived just a couple miles from it! Wish I’d known then, about my family history there!
Matt, once again, pure gold. The world is a very small and connected place. Thank you for the daily inspiration. Will check out Ralfs work. I need an outboard painting. Though I’d like it to be a Scott Atwater outboard to match the one that 3 generations have kept going by replacing the fuel pump diaphragm with a piece of rubber glove…
“You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You’ve just crossed over into the WoodyBoater Zone.”
Truth IS stranger than fiction!
This Art is just hangin” around !
Did you mention Kevin’s bacon and M-fine didn’t chime in?
