The Chris-Craft Deal of The Century, Wait, No, They’re Chris-Crafts, Not Centurys. OF THE CENTURY.

It’s gonna be warm soon, and do we have a deal for you. A wonderful 1947 Chris Craft 25′ Sportsman for just $9,500, thats right, this baby ran when she was backed into the barn, and just needs a little TLC. Okay, maybe a tad more TLC.. Like a stalker would do. But she is all there. And on an equally suspect trailer. BUT, with a little more TLC could be transported. Or if need be, could be delivered within a short distance.

You get all of her, she has a wonderful history, being in one family her entire life. YES, her family locked her in a barn for decades. But we are not going to judge them for that. And she did have her own family, or lets say pets. And did enjoy a view of the water she used to play in. So I guess one could say she was tortured for decades, and she could be all yours to save, love, and bring back to life, like all those dog videos on Facebook.

And HERE IS THE KICKER.. IF YOU ACT NOW, we will throw in a 1941 17 Barrel Back For Free. YES, FREE. A Real Barrel Back, she too ran at some point. She was left out in the cold, and well. Has a hull number. HEY, wait one second.

Think of it this way. Gonna make a replica of one? Mash them together, and her hull number could give you royal lineage. Right? Hey it’s free..******** with the purchase of a 1947 25 Sportsman.

Operator’s are standing by..on email. No way I am putting my phone number here. Matt@WoodyBoater.com or in the comment section, I will find you. Offer ends soon, and will be placed on ebay, and then opened up to the great unwashed public. The Barrel Back offer is because I love you all, and it needs to be saved.

Titles – I am working on Baby Chicks now. I do have paperwork and going to try and het a title. The trailer nuthn. Its a phenox trailer that WECATHEM used. And the barrel Back had a Maryland title and we are in the works on that as well. BUT NO PROMIS on either. Baby Chick never had a title and the Barrel back one is 2 people apart. But I do have it.  Hey if you are into these, this is very normal for grey boats.

BABY CHICK

318 Crappy V8, Used to have a Chrysler Crown, HERE IS HER story when removed from the Barn a year ago.

If you go to BARN FINDS in our Categories, you will see all sorts of stories on BABY CHICK.

BABY GAL. Well. No engine, no parts, just basically a number and some pattern boards. You do get what you pay for.  Same deal, she is in Barn Finds Category

If we had not purchased Melody and gone the route of long distance cruising I would be all over Baby Chick. She needs to be redone and saved! The 25SP is one of the best boats CC ever built IMHO. (That’s In My Humble Opinion, John in VA)

We should be moving again soon as the new transmission was installed yesterday. See you at Dora!

Seriously – You made me wake up to the sight of Baby Gal this morning!! The horror of it! Fortunately, here in Michigan we have our own countdown as it only 17 days until the summer release of Bells Oberon so at least I have something to look forward to in order to get me out of my funk.

In regard to Baby Chick part of me thinks it would be a great project but then part of me says do I really want to get involved in such an undertaking. Am I maturing and becoming sensible? Hope not.

I would be doing it if I didnt already have WECATCHEM, in fact at one point I thought about changing them. I love the apple green interior on these and Baby Chick would be a chance to build such a dream 25. Where as WECATCHEM is still original, having been maintained well her entire life. Baby Chick and baby gal give the builder 100% freedom. Thats been my mental battle. But another oportunity has presented it’s self and well. Got to clear out the log jam. BTW, BABY CHICK DOES HAVE THE CANVAS DOUBLE TOP!

My 25SP, “The Majestic,” wasn’t much better than this one when I bought her. Nearly all wood needed replacement, keel on up. Yet here she is today, apple green interior, original Scripps and all. It was indeed a 100% freedom project and it was amazing to do. These boats are soooo worth it! While “Save the Tatas” is a noble cause, so is “Save the Sportsmans.” (Yes, its also a nice t-shirt idea Matt.)

Wow, that’s a hull of a deal, like a Kroger twofer. Wondered why we haven’t heard any updates on Baby. GLS. Good luck with sale. Hope you don’t have to use flea bay.

I turned 76 this morning and will be selling my 1947 Chris Craft Runabout because there is no way I will ever get around to rebuilding her. She is a pattern boat now, one step away from the bonfire. What was I thinking 15 years ago when I bought her???

Boy that 25sp sure would look good in the well next to Molly-O…………..wow a pair of 25s both with one family heritage.
However I have no interest in the BB so I will have to respectfully tell you to go pound sand.

Beautiful opportunity, but I have too many boats already. I just hope they both find a great new owner and we see them on the water in the future.

That said, I’m just intrigued by: “I have a new thing. I need to do some internal trading.” Matt??? 🙂

yes Troy, I know what IMHO is…and IMHO I am glad my shop will not allow a 25 footer….that is the boat from the Box Wood Farm only 2 hours from home and 15 minutes from my boat….thankfully I am too old to fool with this stuff but these boats are mega cool and great projects…somebody take Matt up on this deal.
Dora trippers: Watch out and shop around on airport car rentals and Tavares lodgings…..worked my down from stupid to acceptable…cut in half….and the rip off rates were from my previous vendors…..spend time on the net and work prices down.

John in VA – I know this might be a bit techy for you, but you might want to try Turo for car rental now that you have a smart phone and can download the app. Than again they may not allow customers who were born before 1900.

As Harsens Island residents maybe we can split the deal. I really want a barrel back, and free is in my budget. I might have to hide it until retirement, but I think I have the ability to make it real again.

      Art says:

What rock have I been living under? Steve, I had no idea that you had a place on Harsens’, I thought that you lived in Rochester. Where are you on the Island?

I’m sorry but you are on your own with the freebee, as I have one 25 CC and and at 80 I sure don’t need another, but I just think it would look cool next to Molly-O. BTW Matts price on the 25sp IS also a freebeee in IMHO.

I hope someone steps forward, Matt. And before you resort to eBay, I’m hoping there’s a restorer out there that could connect you to a buyer. Those 25 foot Sportsmans are one very special boat.

I’m also VERY curious about the horse trading that seems to be going on with Suzy. Clearly you’ve got a specific new prize you’re focused on. Is it another boat? If it’s a boat, I’m guessing it’s something none of us would guess. Or something for the Railway? Or have you completely lost your mind and have another vintage car or truck you’re targeting?

9500.00 is a hell of a deal. When I listed mine a year or so ago. Little better shape then Matts. I listed it with a broker for 25,000. Within a couple of days I had 5 people wanting it. Sold it to the first guy that showed up with money in hand. It was for sale for about 10 days.
