The Harrisons Convert Grace Kelly’s Riva Into A Tow Boat

There’s a click bait headline for ya! Okay, let’s back up a bit here. The Harrisons are loooooooooong OG time Woody Boaters, and we did have some fun with the ever giving breakdowns they have supplied for years. Usually on the wrong end I might add. They are very generous folks to the community, and always a highlight to see them in Lake Dora. Last year, they bought Princess Grace’s Riva, VIA, and take great care to make sure her history stays in tact. And today we have a Christmas Miracle.

I could look at this all day
Yup… They did the towing, and it’s a whopper. There is an entire metaphorical element to this. The old classic helping the young brash one. A reminder that sometimes kindness is elegance. Or Art can support technology when it fails. Or runs out of gas. Anyway, here you are, bait clicked. And just one day closer to next years Lake Dora show/event/party/celebration.

Perfection. Bruce Kester Image

Bruce Kester, former Sunnyland Pres, just happened by and took these pics.
AND HERE IS A FUN STORY ON VIA

It’s very nice to see images of liquid water again. The Michigan Gang is pretty frozen in right now!
Beautiful photo, but that’s a lot of cold!
Harrison’s are wonderful hosts, and Via is a great joy!
Really looking forward to Dora!
That is a beautiful pontoon!
Best comment ever!
I agree. LOL
Great story, Matt – and kudos to the Harrisons. That’s what vintage boating is all about. Well done!
I got toed Sunday by the Harrisons with one of the most iconic, fantastic heritage boats in the country, Reva. I am so thankful and proud. The Harrisons are one caring & thoughtful couple. God Bless them, God Bless America, Merry Christmas!
