The Lake Dora Show Up, Vs The Lake Dora Show 2021

,

Where the show really happens

I have spoken, okay emailen with many of the regulars at the lake Dora Show and it appears many are still going. Which is cool, and I understand. personally I am staying close to my herd, and “I am working on the railway” all the ding dong warm days!

The perfect header moment

The concept of going though is a great idea. No event, yet an event as in seeing each other with common sense in mind, after all you are there to go boating and eat at the Palm Gardens. Insert Joke about catching Covid or hanging out at a Florida Dive Bar.

This vintage photo was sent to us by fellow Woody Boater Warren Oatman! WOW! Is this the same palm Gardens? Was the s added later. It is an entire camp area?

All kidding aside about the Palm Gardens, the burgers and food is great, the apmasphere is PERFECT and oddly I will miss that part of the week there. A FIVE STAR RECOMMEND When in the area..

HELLO!

The joy of seeing many of you rumble rumble down the rivers, lakes and canals is the best! And it will be two years without feeling that joy for me. But for you? Are you one of the many that are going to make the best of something crappy?

The “Thanks” is my favorite part of the sign.

By the way, I completely agree on the show being canceled. To much liability and risk. But showing up and doing what you would do at home, practicing safe social situations, just in another place? Why not? Hell, being in a boat out on the water could be one of the safer places you could be. Unless you are with Paul and Karen.. OH! OUCH! HEY! Said with love!

We were there last year with several regulars. It was one of the BEST trips we have had yet, so I completely recommend going regardless of the organized show.

We won’t be making the trip this year, but plan on seeing everyone in 2022.

Troy we did have fun last year! It was great to meet and see everyone.
We were planning to return this year.
When the show was canceled I canceled my rental house on the lake.
We are heading to Cape Coral to boat down there. We have fun there also.
Here is the boat we use down there.

          Troy,
Yes we go there every time we are down there for lunch.
Cool old bar! I think Matt would even like it!
I know the Boatris would love it!
We have several places we like to go down there.
          Love it!
Hope to see you guys next year in Dora!

We are going. We will be there a little over a week.
We are getting a group to go to the St. John for 2 days. Put in at Aster. Stay at the hotel there. We are looking at Tuesday and Wednesday, the 23rd and 24th. We pull Wed. and head back to Dora.
We will have plenty of wine and beer. We will spend an afternoon at the Glen.
All of this is still up in the air as far as were we are going, north first or south first.

Lord knows I miss the place, the boats, the friends, the WEATHER…coincidently I just checked out last years cancelled reservations and discovered that Jet Blue has extended the time for you to use cancelled reservations…now 3 years! That is nice. I think we may go down in early April. Palm Gardens is the place to be! Troy and Sandi stayed with us on their way down last year so we got a chance to spend quality time together.
    Be safe and head south.

Yes John in Va. was very hospitable and allowed us to stay in his haunted house.

In case any of you were wondering if John has always been a little off, this should answer the lingering questions you have. (If you have trouble reading it just “right click” on the image and open in a new tab)

That is really cool. I knew a guy like John, with that great cruiser, had to have some other notable things in his past!

The weather has turned absolutely fantastic for boating, warm days and calm waters. All I can say is come on down for those who can. Quite a few are here already, and I know of more showing up over the new few weeks for some good boating and boaters’ fellowship. Lots of hotel rooms available. As everything is outside, it’s pretty darn safe…and everything is open.
