Welcome To A New Website, And New Day On WoodyBoater, Held Over. Hangover?

,

We are thrilled to bring you all, the New WoodyBoater.

We had some of our more famous Woody Boaters introduce you all to the new world. If you look around, poke around and try stuff out. Things may break, or not, over the next week, we will be tweaking, refining and ditching over 40 gigs of repeat images. Mostly toilet seats and troys stuff. Anyway, here we are, after many months of trial and more trial. Enjoy!

OMIGOD!! Whitespace…….more than I ever dreamed of!
Probably 300 sq. in. on my supermac display…….
And I used to have to fight the copywriters for ‘just another inch or so’….
Just right on the phone tho…….

Well done Matt, and props to all the guys in the background who actually did the hard work, so the CD could bask in the glory!

This is very slick! I hope it doesn’t slow things down with all this resolution. I am still using my US Robotics 56k baud dial up modem.
    (loud screeching sounds here…)

Matt and everyone else that put this new website together,

All of you knocked this one out of the park. You brought it back from the Briney deep. This is incredible. I always wondered how Christopher Smith’s voice sounded. I sat there for two days with coffee in hand and a blank screen. Not even a Troy picture. Total withdrawal.
But your back in business Baby!

Nice changes BUT, in my old age I have a serious complaint about something that has apparently taken over the internet and printed material. I first experienced the move to “lots of white” when I was given the responsibility to prepare advertisement for a company I worked for. It is easy to put the blame on me but I’m not the one using small and thin fonts. I use glasses and zoom pages out to be able to read them but Matt I have to ask why did you make the decision to require us to make an effort to read this site? I’m only one reader but I ask you to reconsider that choice. How about printing a couple lines of type as you now use and the same line in a full dark #10 or 12 font. See what readers prefer and go from there. I’m bringing this up as an opinion only, not saying what is right or wrong.

Mike, I have enlarged the text font size fairly considerably, especially on mobile where I agree it was too small. The other change we are considering is darkening the text color somewhat. Right now the text is a gray. Black changes the entire feel of the site. We are not in favor of going that far. But we could consider going to a darker gray on the text. I think you would find this would increase readability for you—fairly dramatically. Stay tuned.

I was cursing around and stuck Molly-O into the search engine, read some of the stories’. Question the 3 dots at the end{…} ——what do they do????? I tried everything and nada.

Wow sorry the old website had to go to the burn pile, but it looks like we have a new ride to get out on the water of Woodyboaterville. It floats my boat. Thanks to all. Now let’s take it out to the big lake and see how she handles!
