Winter is Dead, Long Live Warmer Days

Out and about.. warmness

You know things are kinda getting back to warm normal when we get a great report in from Lake Hopatcong with Bob Kays and Allen Makin’s family from Katz’s Marina. Allen has been getting his boathouse find U22 all slicked up for the season and it shows.

March 7th

Twenty days ago I was taking photos of ice sailing on the lake.
To quote Bob Kays, “It was so much fun to take boat photos again! Allen and the kids all looked happy too!”

Family fun

Hey? We tossed Dad out!

Found him!

The ya, ya wave

And the big wave.

This would have been the weekend we all basked in the warmth of Dora, and so tomorrow the countdown starts. 365 days til Dora! Thanks Bob and Allen for the reminder that we can all do the Dora even at home..a

What great pictures! Enjoyed the header. Looks like their having an iceboat regatta in the one picture. What a great way to spend a rainy, windy Sunday morning.

Amazing that the lake there goes from solidly frozen to navigable liquid in under 3 weeks!

All the photos here, of plates of fried shrimp did it! Had to enjoy some of that. So off we went yesterday evening, to Key West! Key West Shrimp House in Madison, IN, that is. Was a beautiful evening for a top-down run in the Miata, along the shores of the Ohio River. Now back to the diet, so my Nomex isn’t too tight, just 2 weeks from today!

Ice boating to U-22 boating in 20 days.

    Gotta love the northeast.

It’s been said that if you can use your snow blower and lawn mower in the same day, you probably live in Maine.

    Now lets go Motorboating!
