A Magical Nautical Wedding In Reedville Virginia.
I will admit, I have not been to a wedding in some time. I am beyond that age, and my kids are not there yet. In this case though one of our pals got hitched on Saturday and we all were there in full woody force to help out. Fellow Woody Boaters Jim Schafer and now Linda Schafer got hitched at there house. Jim and Linda… Linda especially is very creative and had a cool way to make it all work. They are blessed with tons of dock space and decided to use it. This is NOT a marina, its there home.
There were about 200 folks that made it to the party/wedding all in one. Jim a retired Lt Col. in the Marines was in full uniform. While Linda looked drop dead gorgeous in her full gown. They used the dock as the aisle and a 65 ft Berger “boat” as the church.
Fellow Woody Boater Bill Bowman, the captain of the Berger “Cherish” did the ceremony. It all lasted 10 minutes and then it was party time. Simple lighting and wonderful weather made the night magical. So here is a big congrats to fellow Woody Boaters Jim and Linda Schafer.
Now, THAT’S the way you do that!
Semper Fi!
That’s a party! Congrats to the newlyweds.
Not a marina, wow. Congrats on their nuptials and on their success in life.
Whirlwind on the cover page and Burger at the dock! Great ceremony….much luck to all!

Well done! Docks aren’t just places to tie up boats, they are great places to hang out. Suzy really was the most striking guest boat! Congratulations to a creative couple!
There is a UFO or an orb in the header shot.
Yes! Even the martians wanted to be there. jim flies alot, so its only natural that he would have pals in outer space. Actualy they were lanterns all over the place here is a bad out of focus picture
What a cool place!
Must have been a GREAT ceremony.
PS: finally tested the math, it does boot you if you do it wrong.
It’s a good thing we don’t have to spell words correctly to submit a comment otherwise we would never hear from Matt!
