A Sea Doo Pontoon Boat? Is It A Boat? Or A Variant?
No! No! No! This is what happens when you don’t vaccinate your Jet Ski, and Pontoon boat. THIS! THIS! THIS! I hope you all are happy! All of you that own these and go out “un protected boating” this is what happens. WTH!!!! Now we have to deal with 14 year olds going 60mph with more 14 year olds on the thing? AHHHHHHHHHH!
Listen, or read.. I am all for cool stuff. And diversity on the water. Want to drive around on a dinner plate? Fine. And I am not a get off my lawn person. But, we do owe the water fronts some visual elegance.
Our Woody Boats can be loud, flashy and even obnoxious, but they do it with respect, and harmony with the water, woods and air.. Okay air may not be our best argument. Mmmmm sniff that exhaust.
That’s it, my rant. I hope this weekend we can rise above it all and, and, and. Hold on, I am think I need a bucket.. no..no..
If you would like to dive deeper into the Sea Doo universe, and do some unprotected boating, CLICK HERE. WARNING, They make it look kinda cool.. Hold on.. again, I gotta run to the …
Thanks to Rabbit for the taunt today! Thanks alot!
It was only a matter of time before SeaDoo got into the pontoon craze!
Or the new Farmtruck. Truck on pontoons, big block Chevrolet powered with jet drive.
ugly…but hey…they are “going boating”….hopefully not around me.

I remember when Dad bought this PWC in the early ’90s. His operating lesson for my husband, brothers & I (all in our late 20s to early 30s), was “There is no reverse. If you’re headed for the dock at 30mph, you’re gonna hit the dock at at least 28!”
Sadly, no boating for us this weekend. It’s the annual Craig’s Creek Raft-up. A pontoon & jet ski fest with a DJ blasting crap from a floating stage. Too many drunks & idiots out there.
No manufacturer builds a pontoon that will fit thru the tunnels to get off of my lake. These may be small enough, going to have to check them out.
Perfect for when we want to go swimming because the SeaBirD and the XK aren’t exactly built for that.
Tacky = Absolutely
Disposable = Absolutely
What anyone else thinks = Don’t Care, I’m on the water.
It comes with cruise control! Just what you want to see on the lake. UGH!
Nope, nope, nope…..
Give me simple!
The worst conglomeration possible.
All I know is…they’re fair game – “get off my lake!”🙃
We actually rented a pontoon a few weeks ago when at a family wedding on Lake Chelan… While I had to pay some friends off to not tell anyone – I am a woody boater, after-all – the pay-off was beer, which was good and cold. 😉 I hate to say it, but when you have 10+ family members who love being on the water and want to get wet – these things have their place. We towed the grandkids, nieces and nephews all over the lake, didn’t scratch any hull sides getting them in and out and had a great time! The appeal of the jet-ski offering would be no propeller to wrap the tow-line in or to whack toes and such. Do I have any desire to own one? No. Do they have a place in the water-universe? Yes. Now back to my coffee. 🙂
OK, I confess, he had to ply me with cold beer to make me promise I wouldn’t tell anyone. Now his guilty conscience has pushed him to confess! I got the better end of that deal!
I am attaching a picture of his 1930’s era boat “Sindbad” that he has just recently completed a “spruce up” on. We put it into Lake Washington and cruised to Queen City Yacht Club where he is keeping it for a short time while a friend has his cruiser in the San Juans. Notice the short windshield… It was windy and we got plenty wet on the trip over! It was fun though!
We did the same thing a couple of weeks ago when the family was in town. For $300.00 for four hours of a nice evening cruise, I think I will be renting these more often. Cheaper than buying one, storage cost, etc.
For Ronnie and me getting in and out of a vessel is what matters.
