Behind The Geen Wall. Trust Us.
This story requires trust, read from the top and try and not cheat, its part of the fun.. Trust us.. So… Jimmy calls on Saturday morning and says.. Lets go! I have no idea where, and how long. But say, OK, lets go! 3 hours later we are in Cambridge Maryland. Its a beautiful little town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. We are there to go shopping for a new plastic boat. I know I know. Trust me.. If it’s a Jimmy plastic boat its cool.. Ya gotta have faith.. just like Lets GO.. Ya just go… Anyway more on that later this week.
We pull up to a Antique Store.. Bay County Antiques to be precise.., I am thinking, Jimmy… Really? Well… Trust.. In we go.. Well, well well… This is no ordinary Antique Store.. The owner Terry Tubman, has some very very very cool stuff. Blended in with various beds, couches, nick knacks are some insane signs and….
Oh wait one darn second….wait.. boat stuff?
As we go into the store. We come to a corner… Terry pushes on the painting on the Green wall.. ..
And OH MY GOD.. Like entering into a magical world of Woody Boaterness. Not just signs, but two insane Chris Crafts. A Racer and Triple up swept in stunning condition. Very very rare signs. It’s like a shrine to all that we love. This is Terry’s personal room. Terry used to be big time into classic boats, and now just enjoys the rest of the Antique world and has made that fantastic eye for the cool stuff available to us all.
If you want more, just click here to his website. Or get off your lazy aft and head to Cambridge! It’s well worth the trip. Trust us!
AHHHHhhh! So what did Jimmy buy? I’m sure it’s right there in one of the pictures! Please don’t make us guess. Just tell us, please?
Thanks for this smorgasbord (spell that, Matt) of visual delights. Because …. I have been looking for a script for the name of our Riviera which is “Shabby Knot”. There it is on the wall spelling “Shady Lady”. Perfect !
That stern cover looks like it may have been removed from a mid-50s Chris Deluxe 17′. Long before I owned my 58 Deluxe, the boat ran the Annapolis area as “Shady Lady”. Makes me wonder… CQ
Now that’s a honey hole.
Am I the only person who wants to get a proper flagstaff for the boat in the second to last picture?
Nice shop lots of good signs,a few reproductions as well.
Nice!!!!
Curious on hull number of Racing Runabout… #025 perhaps??
Not sure, I can reach out to him to ask.
Hmmmm. Someone who is capable of hiding something so well is also capable of hiding more.
Stay away from the green door behind the green door. It might lead to the basement. People hide things in basements.
“It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.”
That explains the little white dog running around the place.. Still worth it BTW.. Its winter, we could all use a new outfit!
