Big Sky Chapter ACBS – Whitefish Woody Weekend In Northwestern Montana – Classic Boats

The folks at the Big Sky Chapter ACBS in Northwestern Montana are passionate about their antique & classic boats, and the Flathead Lake region has a long history with classic boating. Above is a shot of us going for a great ride on Flathead Lake last August, during the Big Sky Chapter’s annual boat show.

Andrew & Sheena Kerfoot from Wood Boat Endeavor (in Coeur d’Alene, ID) and I were on board “Cinco” fellow Woody Boater Bill & Mary Eisenlohr’s very cool 2004 Fish Brothers 23′ Barrelback Triple.

Although the annual Big Sky Antique & Classic Boat Show on Flathead Lake is once again scheduled for it’s traditional date in early August, this year they are trying something a bit different. The Big Sky Chapter is planning a second event on the weekend of June 30th – July 1st, 2012 at picturesque Whitefish Lake, just north of Kalispell, Montana.

The event which is named Whitefish Woody Weekend is designed to be be more of an organized “On the Water” event for the boat owners, including a Poker-Run and Picnic on Sunday.

The new event will be held at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake in the heart of the Montana mountains with the Whitefish Lake at it’s doorstep – it is simply magnificent.

Event organizer Tim Salt notes “We are starting small with just 20 slips but would love to see some of those with Idaho and Washington registrations come join us for the weekend.”
