Matt/Texx,
Between my morning coffee and the daily articles, nothing else keeps me even keeled quite like your online publication. Each morning after fighting rush hour traffic on the capitol beltway I eagerly look forward to the 15 – 30 minutes where I can go to Woody Boaterville with a hot cup coffee. The information I glean from your site as well as the entire community is so valuable. The main reason I am writing you is because I have been after a pair of Ford FE interceptor exhaust elbows for two years with no luck. I missed my chance about eight months ago on ebay but they were attached to a pair of manifolds. Since I already had three pairs of manifolds I could not justify the $700 asking price. I was already heavily invested in the exhaust manifolds I had even though they were missing pieces. Once I saw the Woody Boater Classifieds section go live I immediately posted a want add. It was my hail Mary attempt to locate these elusive elbows.

Within twelve hours I had a response to my add from a reader that had one elbow laying around. One is better than none so I bought it. Not a day later another reader contacted me saying he had a pair that was being taken off an engine he purchased at auction. Since his boat is a V-Drive, these elbows would not work. I made him an offer and we did the deal. The amazing part to this story is that during my correspondence with him, he said there was elbow that he would let go too. He didn’t need these parts so big win for me. The only question was will the third elbow be a port side or starboard side. I didn’t ask questions, we agreed on a price and set up shipping.

Parts arrived today and I am please say that I now have two complete pairs of elbows for the engines I am building. This would not have happened if you guys had not launched the classifieds section. I have sifted through ebay, craigslist, other obscure “boat parts for sale” ads and of course other forums for 2 years.

It’s a momentous occasion to finally have the parts that have eluded me for this long. The one thing I have learned is that when you find the parts you need one better buy em because they don’t show up often.

Now it’s time to hunt down the easier stuff to find.

Regards, Chris

Here is the link to the ad, I don’t think he needs anymore. I will take down the ad tomorrow

That was one of the Highlights of my trip down that weekend. Good friends, met new friends, drank, and laughed so much. Thanks, Karen and Paul, for your sharing the Good Life, on one huge party boat.

      GREAT SHOT!

Hope you don’t mind if that ends up on my FB page at some point in time.

Here is another view. Not sure who took this one, but it was on my camera. It was probably you who grabbed my camera and snaped a few unexpected shots. If so thanks.

Nice to have a place to go where you can trust the people you are dealing with. I’ve been burned too many times by Ebay.

Doug p. If you notice yes maybe no one does have on a pfd but the boat is still tied to the dock and theres only one person standing (on the front deck) . And he’s holding his drink can down by his side for a lower center of gravity
