Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Nothing Compare’s To The Destruction From Googlebots..
Ya might have noticed yesterday and this AM a message saying my bandwidth was over loaded.. Or something along those lines.. Turns out we were hit with a robot serge.. Yup.. I got the boats out of the water and have everything on our house on the Chesapeake bay tied down or tucked away.. Our home in DC is also all wrapped up.. Generators on stand by.. Propane tanks.. Cell phones charged.. And friek’n web robots take down Woody Boater. That was the straw that broke my back. What the F! Some sort of search robot came through on a surge and slammed WoodyBoater. Shutting it dow.. The customer service twip ..via only email blew me off saying I needed to check with sales for more bandwidth.. Then never returned any emails..And me hours away dealing with a hurricane on a cell phone that works half the time. We have important woody boater news to keep folks going with.. I mean what would happen if someones varnish was not drying correctly.. FOR GODS SAKE MAN,get the site back up.. Well, finally a good customer rep came on and it was fixed in two seconds.. We did evacuate our home and made the drive up to DC to enjoy more Irene action.. Wait.. That’s Irene on Irene action.. Woohooo a threesome! Sorry for the interuption.. You may now make all your comments and hopefully send shots of your boat on top of the Empire State building..
Hmmm, the sky in that photo looks like it has been touched up.
Glad to hear you are still with us!
Whoa. I should have stayed at the River. But at least I have lots of WoodyBoater to catch up on, as long as the lines stay up.
Ok the sky is retouched. But the bottom is how I saw it
Thanks for the post Matt!
You tell us you are headed toward Irene and then the site went down.
We were worried about you!
Glad you have your priorities straight, Matt. WB comes first!
Like Paul H is ever gonna put that boat in salt water…:) Hunker down and be safe over there!
He broke down on lake George and drifted.. I am just guessing
A nice gray rainy day for a nap before the hurricane party starts at Matt’s house! Zzzzz!
Matt,
I have empathy for your positiion/situation. There you are stuck indoors with nothing but booze and food for comfort. Can’t even go for a boat ride – goshdarnit! Here in Wisconsin (and other midwest states) we just get about 20 tornado warnings during spring and summer. That allows us to wonder what will befall the storage buildings wherein out precious woody’s rest.
Well, let’s see: we could reside in Alaska and then our valuable craft might be bombed by Russia (which we could see from our house), or the southwest at which leaves them exposed to sand storm damage. Or, the northwest where they might be sunk by monsoons; Yegads man is there no place safe?
I’m told nothing ever happens in Oklahoma . . . .
Just musicals!
Northern New Mexico is safe, they have good food, Margaritas and art! The water is a bit far away, but peace of mind surely outweighs the cost of gas.
