Easter Breaking Lost Stern Pole News!
As if today could not get any stranger. We got this email in from fellow Woody Boater Craig Yates who found this very sweet stern pole in the water near the boat ramp in Lake Dora. Now there is a secret in it, if you think you sligh devil that you are going to score a free Stern pole. I have no idea what that secret is.. That’s because it’s a secret. I don’t even think Craig knows the secret. Maybe there isn’t a secret after all. But if its yours, it’s at Craig’s place. You can comment and I will hook you up to Craig, so emails are not being published here. Here is Craig’s email and Pics below. Take it away Craig.
Thanks Matt, I was coaching youth during the Mt Dora regatta and found it floating in the water.
Many of the classic boats came past us to use the Mt Dora ramp. I used to work on these boats at Rejuvenation Woodworks with Richard Arnold and I know how expensive and heartbreaking losing something like this is to the owner. It’s from a CENTURY. 1955-newer Coronado. Arabian or Resorter best guess.
Maybe we can locate the owner?
Thanks Craig Yates
Stern pole, the only part of a Century that floats!
Normally I would suggest scubba gear to find the rest of the boat, but that lake is rather opaque and full of gators.
Somebody already mentioned on one of the postings from the Lake Dora/St. John’s Cruise that they lost their Stern Pole. If it wasn’t here on WB then perhaps Century FB or one of the 3 CC FB Forums. I’m on all of them so I can’t quite remember which one. I’m thinking it must not be WB because you’d of remembered!
I am not sure. If Keven Bacon lost it, we will find the owner!
I think that is MY stern pole!
Oh ya I did not bring a boat, and I don’t own a Century.
Could it be this one?
Dang! Troy is doing some detective work.
Owner found! That’s a record!!
Possibly Jeff Funk in Indiana?
John Werner Here is his note. “I have a 1958 Century Arabian and followed my brother-in -law to to Guilbert Park boat ramp on Saturday afternoon late because he was having engine problems. I did not notice it missing until the next morning when I went down to pump out the boat.”
BAM, Thank god for Kevin Bacon!
Funny… NOT. I bet the Chris Craft that he had passed found it. I highly doubt any Century would have been that slow.
glad it’s owners were found. I did not see that many photos of boats that this could have been from. 3 or 4 Coronados the Arabian. and maybe a Resorter 19′ that is a $350-$450 item..
